Paper rocket with own hands

A paper rocket with your own hands can be created in a simple way.

Before you start making a rocket layout, you need to determine the scale of the model.

It should be taken into account that these rockets have certain proportions (the ratio of the diameter of the rocket to its length) or the elongation that it is necessary or desirable to observe.

The accepted ratio of elongation corresponds to the interval, from 1:10 to 1:20, i.е. The length of the rocket must be no less than 10 times its diameter, but not more than 20 times.

This ratio is dictated by the requirements of aerodynamics and the maximum energy weaponry of the rocket.

Next, to make your own hands out of paper, you need to prepare everything you need.

A paper rocket with one's own hands can be created for a model that will be carefully stored on a shelf, and will not be subjected to loads.

In other words, a paper rocket with its own hands will not have strength for gaming purposes or frequent transportation.

So …

1. Prepare the cylinder from any material that will be wrapped in paper.

You can do without a cylinder and roll the cylinder from the paper on his hands in the air. But, it will not have the exact shape and size of the diameter.

The material of the cylinder can be anything from wood to plastic and metal.

The cylinder size, diameter and length will depend on the rocket ratio you have chosen.

For example, if the elongation ratio is 1:10, then with a model diameter of 5 cm, its length is 50 cm. If the ratio of elongation is 1:15, then with a model diameter of 5 cm, its length is 75 cm.

Those. At one selected diameter, for example 5 cm, the length of the rocket model can vary from 50 cm to 100 cm.

For a different diameter, the lengths will be different, respectively, the chosen elongation.

Aesthetically, the ratio of 1:10 elongation is more attractive. And the paper model will be stronger.

It is advisable to revise the chosen parameters of the model (diameter and length) based on the size of the cylinder that is available for operation.

2. Prepare a sheet of paper of the appropriate size.

It is advisable to revise the chosen parameters of the model (length) based on the size of whatman is available for work.

3. Prepare the glue. It is better to use glue grade PVA.

4. Prepare a piece of polystyrene for the fairing of the rocket, (you can make a cone of paper).

5. Prepare paints or colored paper to cover the model.

6. Prepare a pair of scissors, a blade, or a sharp knife.

7. Prepare the material for the model stand (foam or cardboard).

From the description of the preparation it is already obvious how to make a rocket model with our own hands.

The cylinder serves to make the hull of the rocket, which is created by wrapping the paper on it.

After the first turn of the paper, glue along the entire length of the first "overlap" of the loops should be smeared. This will prevent the appearance of a spring effect and unfolding stresses in the threads of the paper.

After the winding of the paper, the edge of the sheet is glued to the "body" of the wound cylinder.

After the adhesive has dried, the cylinder is removed from the sheath obtained from the sheet of the paper that was wrapped around it. The hull of the rocket model is ready.

The fairing for the rocket can be cut with a blade or a retractable office knife made of foam plastic and glued to the cylinder from the paper, inserting into the hole of one of the ends.

The same can be done from paper, which will be somewhat more difficult, because To glue the cone, you need to make a cutting drawing. The drawing of the cone should take into account the "skirt", which serves to "plant" the cone in the cylinder and gluing with it.

The bottom of the model should also be closed. This can be made from foam, cutting out the right size for the plug. If the stub is made of paper, then you have to make a cutting drawing in the same way as in the case of a fairing.

In addition, you can make a stand for a model of foam.

The same can be done from paper. Then for the model stand you need to take a thick piece of cardboard.

The exterior design of the model can be given with the help of stickers of colored paper or paint it with paints.

Each missile must have a designation and it must be applied to the model. After that, a paper rocket with its own hands can be considered a complete model.
