Ostankino Park is a favorite holiday destination

Ostankino Park used to be called the TsPKiO. F. E. Dzerzhinsky. After the next renaming of all squares, streets, squares, factories and factories, the park was returned to a more just name, as it is the historical heir of the Ostankino manor known since the 16th century.

Toponymy

It is impossible to trace the origin of the name. Usually the townships were given the names of the owners or the church built in them, but Ostankin or Ostashkov was owned by the princes of Cherkassy and Sheremetyev, and the famous Church of the Life-Giving Trinity was later erected. It remains only to think out if there is a desire, whether it is the name of the first unknown master, or the "remnant" of a dowry of some bride, or someone's revered remains gave the name to the village. Anyway, but in the landmark book of the Moscow district for the first time in 1558 there was a mention of the village of Ostashkov. Often the village passed from hand to hand, and each owner was building something-a pond, a garden. This was how the famous Ostankino Park began to emerge.

Founder of the estate

The heyday of this village near Moscow is connected with the grandson of the famous Field Marshal
BP Sheremetyev, to whom the first in Russia was awarded the title of Count. His son, married to a representative of the Cherkasskie family (Ostankino included in the dowry), laid the foundations of the legendary state - the Sheremetyevs were richer than Catherine II. The grandson of the "nestling of Petrov's nest", Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetyev, remained in the history of Russia as a patron of arts, the founder of the beautiful Ostankino residence near Moscow, and simply as a man with a subtle artistic taste. It has been repeatedly noted that the "artistry" of the estate has never been sacrificed to convenience or anything else.

The first in the territory where Ostankinsky Park was later built, a pond appeared at the beginning of the 17th century, it was built in the floodplain of the Gorlenka River, or, as it became known later, the Ostankino Creek. Later, the reservoir became known as the Palace pond, since the most beautiful count's residence was immediately behind it.

Saving virtues

The estate was so good that in the troubled 1918 it was not burned and looted, but created on its territory a state museum. Thanks to the responsible attitude of the authorities, in the Ostankino Palace and now you can hear the repertoire of the famous Sheremetyevo serf theater and see the authentic interiors of those times. This is the only theater building in Russia, preserved in its entirety: a stage, a hall, a dressing room, an engine room, etc.

City property

The modern Ostankino Park itself as a municipal entity of the Dzerzhinsky Park of the Central Park of Culture and Sport was established in 1932 and existed under that name until 1990. And then, and now this park is one of the favorite recreation places for Muscovites. It combines both cognitive leisure and simply rest in the fresh air. The dance of the same name is devoted to the dance floor. Of the modern features of the park culture can be noted the presence of asphalt paths for riding on bicycles and rollers. There are stables and a paintball club, a large number of all kinds of cafes, it is in the park area that there is a wooden manor (an architectural monument), and the visit to the facility stops as soon as the humidity exceeds 80%.
