In Côte d'Ivoire, there are many ethnic groups, each of which has done a lot for the development of national art. Yamoussoukro

This city became the capital for a relatively long time - in 1983, but people still do not recognize it as the main one in the country. The most interesting architectural monument located here is Notre-Dame de la Pax, created in the 60s of the last century. This is a huge Christian temple, built on the model of St. Peter's Cathedral, located in the Vatican. On the facade of the church you can see more than thirty remarkable stained-glass windows. Abidjan

This city is often referred to as "Paris, located in West Africa." Here there are a huge number of parks (the most beautiful of them, undoubtedly, Le Plateau), interesting places, and also a large handicraft market. 500 years ago, Abidjan was an unremarkable provincial town, but its fate changed for the better when the channel called Vrydi was opened. He allowed to go directly out of the lagoon into the sea. Thus, Abidjan became a very significant port and quickly increased in size, and the population soon began to be 3 000 000 people.

The city center and the luxurious sleeping area called Kokordi are noteworthy for the many architectural monuments left after the colonialists from France. The most interesting place is the hotel "Ivory", aged in the imperial style. This hotel is the most famous in the west of Africa. Guests here can indulge in a variety of entertainment: ride on a skating rink with artificial ice, watch movies in the cinema, play casino, swim in the pool, visit the bowling alley. Ivory also houses the most prestigious art store in Abidjan. Walking near this hotel, you can see the Saint-Paul church.
