Opel Corsa: 30 years of non-stop production

Recently, the Opel Corsa car marked its anniversary - 30 years since the release of the first model in 1983. During this time, four generations of famous brand cars were replaced, many modifications and updates of the style were made, the wheelbase was enlarged and decreased, the interior was radically changed, but always the Opel Corsa was a perfect and, therefore, a demanded car.

The first generation of Opel Corsa included models of the classic three: sedan, hatchback and station wagon. Cars with a body hatchback were issued in two variants - three-door and five-door. The sedan was also produced in a two-door and four-door format. The compact Opel Corsa has always had three doors, two side and one luggage. As for the engines on the Opel Corsa of the first generation, there were five petrol and two diesel, different power, from 46 hp. Up to 104 hp

Exactly in ten years, in 1993, the model range of Opel Corsa has replenished new modifications. Designers and designers tried to leave the overall look of the car unchanged and focused on constructive improvements.

From the exterior of the additions introduced a new front bumper and a more stylish radiator grille. On this external update of the car is over. But the steering was modernized radically, an effective electric power was installed on the steering wheel. Significant design changes were subjected to the front suspension. And, as the final touch in the formation of the new, second-generation Opel Corsa, under the hood appeared a brand-new motor from the ECOTEC series, liter, with a capacity of 56 hp.

It would seem that the engine did not represent anything special, but the speed of the car with this engine exceeded 150 km / h. All cars of the first, and also the second generation of Opel Corsa, were produced in several factories in different countries, practically in all Latin American and some countries of southern Africa.

On the Australian continent and in Japan, in England and Mexico. The cars of the Opel Corsa were assembled in each region in different ways, depending on the climatic conditions and economic possibilities of the population. Sometimes even the standard bodies were changed by adjusting to the requirements of local consumers.

The flexible management policy of the German auto giant gave its results, during the eleven years of continuous production of Opel Corsa, 6 million cars were sold. But time passed, and gradually the models lost their novelty. The irreversible process of aging began.

Competition let know about itself. Designers and designers of the concern Opel again set to work. And by the year 2000 the cars of the third generation of the Opel Corsa were ready , the feedback about which surpassed all expectations. Although radical changes in new machines were not observed, as before, surface improvements were made. However, in the outlines of the car there were slight signs of aggression, there was a significant increase in dynamics.

But the fourth generation of the Opel Corsa technical characteristics have changed the most radical way, the models that were presented at the London Motor Show in 2006, were marked by profound changes. For new cars, the Gamma platform was used from Fiat's assets. Corsa has grown considerably in size, external differences with previous models have been evident. The exterior of the car does not just look refreshed, it even gives the impression of some futurism, which means that the car will not last long.
