On some difficulties in the way.

Today, the process of training in driving schools is set in such a way that in the shortest possible time to teach the students the minimum knowledge that is only designed to ensure traffic safety, the novice driver. Practical exercises are limited to several methods. All this is enough only to make short trips around the city. If the training took place in a metropolis, the newly-minted driver "hones" his skills, pushing in traffic jams. If the town is small, then memory works there - good knowledge of the streets and the mentality of local residents. After some time after training, driving daily along the same route, novice drivers become more confident, calm down, stop repeating rules and gradually forget that on this the boundaries of knowledge and roads do not end. The most "interesting" begins when they go beyond the usual framework and go to the "big road". Some difficulties that may arise in this situation will be discussed.

For example, it will be sufficient to consider two opposite versions of the development of events.

Option one.

The driver leaves the provincial city in the metropolis. He will have to overcome an unusually long distance along the route before he gets to his destination. And the first thing to be faced is the length of the monotonous movement. In small settlements, the length of the streets facilitates a quick arrival at the right place. Therefore, such a factor as fatigue will be familiar only in theory. Namely, it is the key for long-distance travel. For various reasons, people often try to deceive themselves by saying: "I'm not tired" or "I do not want to sleep." It is very important to understand this in time and stop for a rest. Try to stop, after driving hundreds of three kilometers, get out of the steering wheel and stretch out to the full height. If at that moment you do not get dizzy, do not darken your eyes or become cold, then you can do a couple of simple physical exercises (sit down, jump, etc., to disperse blood) and continue your journey. If any of these signs of fatigue have manifested itself, do not deceive yourself, rest. No coffee, no loud music, no chewing gum will not help, if the tension tired of the brain. Practicing driving on the streets of friends from childhood, the driver ceases to pay attention to road signs and markings. He knows perfectly which of the main streets, in which direction the two lanes and where the turn is prohibited. Getting into the megalopolis, where three or four lanes in each direction, hundreds of signs per kilometer of path and thousands of bright advertisements, he forgets everything that his auto-driver of automatic transmission taught in driving lessons and starts to get confused and panic. It does not usually lead to anything good. And the explanation is very simple - the driver can not read. Yes, it is read. He does not have time to recognize the necessary signs, read information from them and correctly respond. To avoid such trouble, you just need to test your knowledge before leaving and, if necessary, repeat the traffic rules. And also during trips to the native city, you need to try to develop the habit of raising your eyes and looking at road signs.

Option two.

The driver leaves the metropolis in a small city.

This driver also has to practically become familiar with the fatigue factor. "Staying in traffic jams of modern large cities is also tiring and this factor is familiar to us" - someone will not agree with me. Yes, the "crush" on the road causes drowsiness, fatigue and loss of reaction, which characterizes fatigue and what the autoinstrument warned. But there is one "but!" - speed. In a congested city, warmed up in the sun, drivers fall asleep, slowly moving forward. The flow rate averages about 20 k / h. On the road, the speed of movement is five to six times greater. If in the first case the bumper will crumble during a collision, then in the second case it is good if the bumper, in general, is found.

Another trouble that certainly awaits the driver of the megalopolis is the local mentality. Here you need to be extremely attentive. On arrival at your destination, be cautious. Despite the Rules of the Road Movement, acting the same throughout the territory of the Russian Federation, in many cities of the country there are their "exceptions", which local residents adhere to, simply not attaching importance to their controversy with the law. Do not be surprised if someone overtakes you on the right, does not turn on the turn signal, exceeds speed or moves in the middle of the carriageway. In such cities, there is often no road marking, and the quality of the canvas makes for steep maneuvers. Take your time and do not try to go "like everyone else." Other drivers will understand by registration numbers that you are here on a visit and, most likely, will forgive you a slow movement or mistake, which can not be said about the inspectors of the traffic police.

From all of the above, we can conclude: first, a good knowledge of traffic rules, road signs and markings will provide you peace of mind and confident driving in an unfamiliar city; Secondly, the ability to control yourself and analyze the behavior of others is the key to the safety of your life along the way.

Good luck on the road!
