New budget sedan for the Russian market - "VAZ-Datsun"

Budget car "VAZ-Datsun" - the first model of the company Datsun in the Russian market. Moreover, the novelty was developed for Russia, but will supply to Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The car was presented by Carlos Ghosn, the director of the Renault-Nissan alliance, on April 4 at the Moscow auto show.

History

The beginning of the long history of the company Datsun was laid back in 1914, when it released its first car - DAT-GO. In 1933, its name was changed, which is connected with the transition of the release model to the care of the founder of Nissan - Akava Josisuke. He was named Datson (son of DAT). In what follows, the letter o was replaced by u. In this form, Nissan MC existed until 1981, when it ceased to exist for certain reasons.

About intentions to revive Datsun concern Nissan for the first time declared in 2012. The company planned to supply budget cars to the countries of South America, Russia, India, where there is a rapid development of automobile markets. The first models appeared in India and Indonesia. They were the hatchback and the station wagon Datsun Go and Datsun Go +, respectively.

Exterior

At the heart of the car is a load-bearing body structure, taken from the Kalina and Granta models (platform, doorways, etc.). Therefore, it is called the new "Datsun" on "VAZ". The car is identical in many technical aspects with its relatives, but it is strikingly different in appearance. "VAZ-Datsun" received a new optics, expressive aerodynamic bumpers and other "fashion" details.

On the front of the body is a trapezoidal grille with a coarse, chrome-plated mesh.

The new "VAZ-Datsun" has the following dimensions: wheelbase - 2476 mm, length - 4337 mm, width - 1700 mm, height - 1500 mm.

The volume of the luggage compartment of the car is 530 liters, which is a serious indicator for cars of this class. The ground clearance at full loading is equal to 168 mm, and at driving with one driver - 185 mm, practically as at a crossover.

Salon

The interior of the car is based on the same Kalina and Granta. The main differences are observed in the architecture of the front panel, the center console and the instrument panel. Ventilation ventilators located on the sides of the torpedo remained the same shape and settled in the same place as in the VAZ models. Only the central deflectors, which have received a rectangular shape, have changed. As for the steering wheel, seats and door cards, VAZ-Datsun also received them from Russian cars without any changes.

The capacity of the car is comparable to the capacity of the "Lada-Grant". In the novelty with comfort can accommodate five people (including the driver). For a long trip to place three passengers on the back sofa is undesirable, because after a certain time spent on the road, there may be discomfort.

"VAZ-Datsun" features improved sound and noise insulation, modified calibration of springs, shock absorbers and suspension in general. This involved the specialists of the alliance Renault-Nissan. Front suspension is represented by MacPherson struts, rear torsion beam, gas-filled shock absorbers. Front mounted disc brakes, rear - drum.

Equipment

"Nissan-Datsun" on the "VAZ" in the basic configuration includes a driver's airbag, ABS system, heated front seats and rear-view mirrors with electric drive, mounts for child seats. For an additional fee motorists have the opportunity to purchase front and side airbags for passengers, ESP stabilization system, multimedia with touch screen, navigation system Sitigid, heated windscreen, climate control system and alloy wheels R14, R15.

"VAZ-Datsun" is equipped with an 87-horsepower 1.6-liter engine that works in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission, as well as for AvtoVAZ cars. At the same time, it was seriously revised.

Sales

The official start of the production of the car took place on July 14, although this is nothing more than a convention: the real release began in April, and the test versions - in December 2013. Sales of the model began in late August, but orders began to be accepted a few months before. The car is produced in three versions: Dream, Access and Trust. The cost of the basic equipment is 329 000 rubles. Dealer network deals with car sales, today there are 25 of them, but by the end of the year the number is planned to increase to 40, and later - to 100.

The director of AvtoVAZ believes that there is no need to talk about the serious competition that Datsun can create for other VAZ cars. The company has 386 dealers and many times exceeds the novelty in terms of output. In addition, the Datsun is equipped with the weakest engines from the entire line.

The plan of sales and production volumes are kept secret. It is known that about 60 Datsun models come off the assembly line daily, while the production of cars based on Lada Kalina (Granta) is about 800 per day (only in Togliatti). In AvtoVAZ they stated that they are ready to organize the release of about 700 units per day.

Japanese engineers managed to bring the car to such a level, which would be nice to bring and domestic cars.
