"Moskvoretsky" park - untouched by civilization corners of nature

If you are tired of the capital's noise and fuss, you want to be alone with nature and yet do not travel far beyond the city, then welcome to the historic park "Moskvoretsky". From the name it can be seen that it stretches along the main water artery of the metropolis. It is the largest park in Moscow. It is a favorite place of rest for the residents of the capital. Therefore, guests of the city will be pleased to visit the park. Even if you are indifferent to natural beauty, there you will find a lot of interesting things.

Despite the fact that the park has many untouched corners, it can not be called a virgin forest. It is properly equipped for cultural recreation of citizens. In addition, in 1998 the park was granted the status of a specially protected natural and historical monument of regional importance. For what merit the territory was awarded such a high rank? Our article will tell about it.

Where is the natural park "Moskvoretsky"

This is a truly huge territory, comprising three and a half percent of the total area of the capital. The park stretches along the riverbed of the Moskva River, which is why it got that name. Landscaped territory stretches to the north-west from the center of the capital. The exact address - Autumn street, 18 - does not tell anyone who wants to walk in the park. After all, its territory is very large. It is interspersed with ravines, streams, canals and even residential streets. If you look at the map of the city, the Moskvoretsky Park stretches from the Fili in the south to Stroginsky Bay and the beaches in Tushino in the north.

How to get there

Based on the huge size of the territory (3660 hectares), you can come here in different ways. If you are traveling by car, follow the Rublyovskoye highway. The easiest way to get to the park is by metro. Based on the area of the green zone you want to get to, you need to go to the stations "Filevsky Park", "Pionerskaya", "Kuntsevskaya", "Krylatskoe", "Bagrationovskaya", "Molodezhnaya", "Polezhaevskaya", "Shchukinskaya" or "Strogino" (3, 4 and 7 lines of the Moscow subway).

From the first four stations you need to walk fifteen minutes on foot. From others it is necessary to get by ground public transport. From Molodezhnaya station you can get by buses №№ 691, 229 and 73. From Shchukinskaya there are trams №№ 15 and 10. In the Moskvoretsky park you can come directly from the city center. To do this, take the trolleybus № 2 to the Arbatskaya metro station. From "Falcon" to the park follows the route of tram No. 15. This green array has a lot of entrances, and in some places it is not fenced at all, so you do not have to go long along Fence.

Parts of the park

The valley of the Moskva River combined 22 ecological landscapes together. We can say that this is a complex of Moscow parks, separated from each other by small canals or streets. Indigenous Muscovites know that it is composed of the Fili-Kuntsevsky forest, Krylatsky hills, Stroginskaya, Mnevnikovskaya, Kirovskaya floodplain, Shchukinsky peninsula, Silver Bora and others.

Some parts of the park are truly untouched corners of nature. Others are equipped for sports and amusement. Depending on the season, different parts of the array are visited. For example, in the summer, the Moskvoretsky Park in Strogino is more popular, since there are extensive, but unfortunately unbuilt beaches. To reach them will not be difficult. It is necessary to reach the metro station "Strogino" (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line) and walk along Tallinn street. Swim is allowed on the beaches of the artificial island of Serebryany Bor.

Historical park "Moskvoretsky"

The fact that the land on which the capital of Russia now stands was habitable for a long time, evidenced by the results of archaeological excavations. On the territory of the park were found traces of the sites of ancient people of the fifth millennium BC, tools of the Bronze Age. Barrows of the 9th-11th centuries prove that these places were mastered by the Slavic tribe of Vyatichi.

Near the Krylatsky bridge, literally three hundred meters away, you can see the remains of the Kuntsevo settlement. This settlement existed from the first millennium until the sixteenth century. "Moskvoretsky" park can please visitors with other monuments of antiquity. In the western part there are two estates: "Fili-Pokrovskoe" and "Kuntsevo", and on the shore of the Serebryanoborsk floodplain - the estate "Trinity-Lykovo". There are a lot of ancient temples here. In Fili, you can see the Baroque church of the Intercession, in Krylatskoy - the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, south of Strogino - the Trinity of the Life-giving.
