Group "The Ark". Branch

"Ark" is a popular Russian musical collective. The group was organized in 1990 in Moscow. The permanent leader of the team is the well-known performer Olga Arefieva. It is her presence that brings all the hypostases of the "Ark" together. In addition, the collective became famous at the expense of a duet called "Anatomy" with the regular participation of Pyotr Akimov.

For many years, the group "The Ark" was changing in every possible way. The composition of the team changed, new projects and concert programs were created, etc. Do you want to know about the evolution of this musical group? Welcome to this article!

"Acoustics-Ark"

"Acoustics-Ark" was the first and most successful project of the group. It exists since 1990 (albeit with small interruptions). As you can understand by name, the group "The Ark" performs acoustic musical compositions. The first acoustic composition, in addition to Olga herself, included a talented violinist, singer Mila Kinina and popular guitarist Vladimir Simbirtsev. In those days, instrumental music was very popular. It is for this reason that the collective has been rapidly gaining momentum. For example, a year later Arefyeva and the group "The Ark" recorded their first magnetoalbum.

However, soon Olga Arefyeva dissolved the old line-up and took in the group of other musicians. For the next couple of years, "Acoustics" became the main project for the performer. It is for this reason that Olga paid the whole attention to the group. And it has borne fruit. Thanks to the activity of "Acoustics" in Moscow, the active development of the rock acoustic direction began, which had its own characteristics. In addition, a club called "Aku" was established in Izmaylovsky Park (Moscow). Olga Arefieva and the band "The Ark" released quite a few albums. The most popular of them are "Party From", "Girl Scherzo", "Bells".

"The Ark. Electricity"

In the 1990s, Western culture began to penetrate domestic show business. It is for this reason that Olga Arefieva launched such projects as "Blues-Ark" and "Reggie-Kovcheg". In addition to the performer, Sergey Smirnov (bass player), Andrey "Andy" Sorokin (guitarist), Alexey Barinov (drummer) and Sergei "Claudius" Kurgalimov (keyboard player) joined the band.

The blues variation of the band was not very popular. It is for this reason that this branch has quickly sunk into oblivion. However, "Reggie-Kovcheg" was quite self-claimed. Throughout 1994-1996, he, along with Acoustics, was Arefyeva's main project. The composition of the reggae-branch often changed. According to Olga, the best variation of "Reggae" consists of guitarist Igor "Stalker" Vdovchenko, drummer Vsevolod Korolyuk, bassist Mikhail Trofimenka, drummer Boris Markov and herself.

Since the second half of the 90's "Reggie-Ark" began to change. First, the name of the group was removed in connection with the change of repertoire reggae-prefix. And already in the 2000s the branch turned into "Electricity". As you can understand by name, the team focused on power tools. Despite this, Olga continued to write and perform songs. At the moment, the group "The Ark. Electricity" performs musical compositions from such albums as "Kon-Tiki", "Batakakumba", "Snow", etc.

"Chanson-Ark"

On the wave of popularity of chanson, Olga assembled a group focused on this musical direction. The "Chanson-Ark" was born in 2003. The repertoire consisted of hard romances, homeless, amorous, dance songs and other things. In 2005, there was a single album called "Twisted-Rotated".

"Royal-Ark"

This branch appeared in the middle of the 2000s. The project was a solo performance, which consisted of musical compositions of various authors. Olga herself played and sang on performances accompanied by a cello or a piano.
