Monarda, also known as American balm, bergamot, citric lemon, is an essential oil plant belonging to the family of labial flowers. The height of the straight stem reaches about ninety-one hundred centimeters. The leaves have a dentate shape. Small flowers form an inflorescence with a diameter of 8 cm. Monarda is an excellent honeycomb with a variety of forms and colors of fragrant flowers. Stems, inflorescences and leaves emit various strong flavors: mint, lemon, etc. There are a huge number of annual and perennial species, hybrids of this plant. Monard, the cultivation of which takes place in our gardens, it is mainly tubular and dvuhchataya, which are perennials. Monarch blooming occurs approximately from July to August and forms by about 5 years about 100 flowering shoots. This flower is insensitive to pests and diseases, unpretentious and frost-resistant. Care for the flower is watering, loosening, frequent weeding and feeding. Monard, whose cultivation is easy to care for, requires at the end of the season only cutting off the above-ground part of the bush, to be reborn again in the coming spring. The roots of the plant are frost-resistant and perfectly tolerate winter cold.

Monarda: growing from seeds, dividing bush and seedlings

Reproduction of the monad occurs with the help of seedling, division of the bush, and also seeds. In order to grow seedlings, in March-April, the seeds are sown to a depth of about 1 cm. After about 5-10 days, the seeds germinate. The sprouts dive once every 16-20 days in pots with a diameter of 10 cm. In this case, they get better and blossom days by 15 rather. Saplings need to be poured several times with a solution of nitrogen fertilizers. Landed monarch in the open ground in mid-May.
