Mirror lake. Another miracle of nature

Origin of the lake

The Mirror Lake has a glacial origin and is located in the water system of the Wieliczka River, near the lakes Krasnogvardeyskoe and Podgornoe. The length of the lake is 4 km, and its width is 1 km. The lake is deep-watered, the maximum depth is 16 meters. The lake has the shape of an elongated drop. In the south-east of the lake there are two islets. Local people are used to calling their Island of Separation and the Island of Love, and the geographical name of the islands is Big and Small.

How to get to the lake?

You can get to the Mirror Lake in two ways. The first way is to go by car along the Primorsky highway to the village of Zelenaya Roshcha, from there turn right and go towards the Yappil railway station . On the south side of the lake there are convenient entrances. The second way is by train from St. Petersburg to get to Zelenogorsk, then change to a train and get off at Yappil station. Already from this station to the lake will remain 2 km on foot.

Where did the lake get its name?

Crystal clear water and gave the name to this lake. Even at a depth of about 10 m visibility is good and divers do not even need a flashlight. Pine forest surrounds the Mirror Lake from all sides.
