Do you want to make an unforgettable shopping experience? Andorra is waiting for you!
Dwarf principality of Andorra, sandwiched in the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain, can really surprise. And not only by the size of per capita income, by beautiful ski slopes or by breathtaking views of proudly rising peaks. No less key motivation for the huge tourist flow is shopping. Andorra in this sense is a unique state, since the entire territory of this country is one continuous Duty Free. And it all began in the Middle Ages, when as a result of paraia (separation of temporal power and princely) between the bishop of Urzheil and the count of Foix, only one tax was introduced for residents - a pollutant. There are still no VAT charges in Andorra.
You can not go far, and already on the borderland to make a good shopping. Andorra la Vella, the capital of the state, can still offer a wider choice. The epicenter of rough trading activity falls on three central streets (avenids) of this ancient city: Merichel, Carlemani and Princeppe Benlech. The widest assortment of products is offered by the Pyrenees network hypermarket. There are other, no less worthy competitors: Andorra 2000, El Punt de Trobada or Escale.
Andorrans, unlike their closest neighbors - French and Spanish - like to work. The siesta is closed only by very small shops, where the seller is the owner of the shop. All other points of trade work without a lunch break and weekends, on average from 9 am to 9 pm. There are only four official non-working days in the country. Thus, the merry carnival called "Andorra - Shopping 2013" is interrupted only on January 1, March 14, September 8 and December 25.
