What is this system?

First you need to understand the composition of this device. The following details appear in the electric start-up system of the internal combustion engine: turn signals, starter, ignition and locking switches, wires connecting the entire circuit, and, of course, a car battery. Knowing this, you can safely get down to work.

So, to adjust the rotation relay (namely the gap that exists between the stop and the end of the gear), it is necessary to disconnect from the power supply of the winding wire. They are designated by the letter "M". Next, you need to connect the battery (preferably 12-volt) to the winding and one more to do the wires, which is marked with the English letter "S". It is important to remember that in this case the gear must move to the meshing position. Then, using the feeler gauge, check the gap between the stop and the end of the gear. If there are small deviations, then in this case you need to remove or install (depending on the probe reading) the gasket between the wire cover and the rotation relay.

To check the state of the winding, you will need to connect the circuit components to the starter as indicated in the instruction manual, and the wires must be disconnected from the power supply of the part marked with the letter "M". Then connect the car battery to the terminals as indicated in the first case. If the gear is in good condition, it must move to the engaged position.

Another case - if you want to determine the state of the holding winding of the cornering relay, you need to connect the power to the "mass" and the "S" output. The "M" wire must be disconnected from the battery. Thus, you will find out the serviceability of the relay. In the event that the pinion is pulled out and then returns again several times, it means that the winding is damaged. Repair it does not make sense, the only thing that can save the situation is the replacement of the relay.

Tip

When adjusting this system, the optimum value is the maximum permissible value of the voltage and current in the winding, which can be found in the same manual. In the event that the current in the wires increases, this can lead to rapid overheating and subsequent failure of the system. If this indicator is lower than normal, this can lead to a decrease in the reliability of the contacts. Therefore, take care of your car and only expose the voltage that the manufacturer himself indicates.
