Pushkin's reference in Mikhailovsky in 1824-26.
Pushkin's Mikhailovsky exile did not at all become the first punishment of a young poet. Back in 1820, for his free verses and epigrams, he went to the southern exile. In fact, the young official was simply sent to serve away from Moscow. For four years he lived in several cities: Odessa, Ekaterinoslav, Chisinau. During this period, several well-known poems were written: "Bakhchisarai Fountain", "Caucasian Prisoner", "Brothers Robbers". At that time work was begun on the poetic novel "Eugene Onegin".

During his stay in the south, the literary glory of the young poet is unheard of. Together with his fame, attentive views of representatives of state censorship headed by Alexei Arakcheev are again being addressed to him. In 1824, the clouds are again gathering over the poet. The police intercepts one of his private messages to a friend. In this letter, Pushkin expresses his own atheistic views. On July 8 of the same year, the poet is removed from the service and sent to his mother's estate, located in the Pskov region. Actually, Pushkin's link in Mikhailovsky was not too strict for him. It was not similar to the conclusion of the Decembrists or a number of other figures of that time. However, this peculiar arrest, finding far away from literary friends and political like-minded people weighed upon the poet. He himself considered the link an imprisonment.
