The mechanism of action is based on the release of nitric oxide in the smooth muscles of the vessels, a decrease in the activity of protein kinase and other factors contributing to relaxation in smooth muscle vessels (veins, mainly). This, in turn, leads to a short-term decrease in blood pressure, facilitating pre- and post-loading on the myocardium, reducing the need for myocardium in oxygen. Due to the dilatation (expansion) of the capillaries, the oxygen supply and blood supply to the myocardium is improved, it is also possible to reflex acceleration of the heart rhythm.
