"Mazda-2" is a compact Japanese B-class car that has been produced since 2003 at Mazda Corporation's plants in Hiroshima. Takes second place in the model line, next to "Mazda-6." In Asian countries sold under the name Demio.

So there was a full-fledged first- generation car "Mazda-2", reviews of which did not wait. Visitors to the showroom noted the novelty of technical solutions, modern body contours, as well as a high aesthetic level of the salon.

Production prospects

The prospect for the production of the new model was quite clear, and Mazda's chief designer, engineer Ikuo Maedo, took up the preparations for mass production.

In March 2007, the Mazda-2 of the second generation was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. Visitors to the car dealership saw a light, swift car, quite unlike its predecessor. The new car has become more compact, the body length has decreased by 40 millimeters, the height has decreased by 55 mm. The wheelbase remained the same - 2490 mm.

Contrary to the laws of logic, the interior space of the Mazda-2 model (the photos on the page confirm this) has not diminished, but, on the contrary, has become more voluminous due to changes in door profiles, body racks and ceiling contours. Significant weight reduction was achieved as a result of the use of high-strength metal, from which the lower part of the body was stamped. The weight of the finished body was reduced by 20 kg.
