At various exhibitions and competitions there are unique models, often existing in a single copy. One of the most important elements in such a car is light tuning, where the illumination of the bottom of the car is a key element.

If you previously had to solder schemes, install protection and carefully isolate all the elements of lighting, today there are already fully equipped systems on sale. Such devices can simply be fixed in the desired place and connected to the battery. If you decide to save or make your own unique system, then lighting the bottom with your own hands will be an ideal option for you.

Before you start, be sure to wash the machine well, since dirt and sand will not allow you to do the job qualitatively. Backlighting the bottom with your own hands is a simple process, but requires some skills and abilities. Begin the work by marking out and exploring the most suitable places for installing all the elements. It should be remembered that competent lighting starts with the quality of the selected parts, in our case it will be an LED tape. The tapes differ not only in brightness (the brighter the light, the shorter the distance between the diodes), but also in protecting against external factors. The main threat is moisture. Therefore, all elements are divided into moisture resistant and conventional.

As mentioned earlier, the bottom lighting with your own hands begins with removing the markings and calculating the length of the tape. To glue the whole machine around the perimeter, you need about 5 meters of tape, where 3.6 meters goes to the rapids, and 2.4 meters to the bumper. If you decide to install the backlight on the wheels, then here you will have enough 50 centimeters for each disc.

Perhaps the most important stage in this work is soldering and sealing, as severe weather conditions in our country can lead to the formation of microcracks and harmful chemicals there. As a result, contact may start to malfunction or even break off due to frequent vibrations. Backlighting, which is carried out by hand, always takes place with a hot glue and a transparent heat-shrinkable tube. Some prefer to use an auto-sealer instead of glue.

Fastening of light-emitting diodes is carried out through crosspieces from the punched assembly tape with a step of 7-10 centimeters both on bumpers, and on thresholds. It should be remembered that it is necessary to retreat at least 15 cm from the edge of the bumper (or threshold) so that the diodes are not visible.

The connection is recommended to be done clockwise, starting from the driver's threshold. The backlighting of the bottom, made with this hands by this scheme, allows you to put together all the elements together. After the installation is completed, it is necessary to check the operation of the LEDs by connecting electricity to them for a while. If everything works properly, then it's time to wrap the central wire in the corrugation and pull it the shortest way to the battery. Plus wire through a 10 amp fuse we connect to the batteries, negative we drive into the interior through the seals. We install a switch on it and lead the wire to the body weight.
