Levomekol. Application

There is a certain group of medicines that have the ability to fight inflammatory diseases without affecting the body as a whole. This feature is an undoubted advantage, since most pharmaceuticals lead to the development of dysbiosis, resulting in a disturbance of the balance between harmful and beneficial microorganisms located on the mucous membranes and skin integuments of a person.

"Levomekol" ointment, the use of which also does not harm the body, has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and regenerating properties. In addition, it has a hypertonic effect.

The drug "Levomekol", which is applied externally, contains methyluracil and levomycetin. These components are basic. The composition of the drug in question also includes ethylene glycol, which is an additional substance.

Levomycetin is an antibiotic with a wide spectrum of action. It has a harmful effect on pathogens, including streptococci, staphylococcus, E. coli and others.

Antimicrobial action of levomycetin is a violation of the synthesis of protein produced by pathogenic microorganisms, which leads to their destruction and, accordingly, to death. As a result of scientific research, it was found that the stability of infectious agents to this substance develops slowly enough.

It should be taken into account the fact that this component can have a poisonous effect on the hematopoiesis system (as a result - a decrease in the number of white and red blood cells). Levomycetin in large volumes can cause mental disorders and confusion. That is why the drug "Levomekol" when breastfeeding (as well as during pregnancy) is not assigned.

Let us consider in more detail the second active component of the drug, methyluracil. It is able to stimulate metabolic processes occurring in cells, it has a beneficial effect on the healing of various wounds, restores tissues and eliminates the focus of inflammation.

Methyluracil also has an effect on immunity. First, it strengthens the resistance to diseases by stimulating the production of an additional volume of blood cells that protect the body (leukocytes). Secondly, it activates the production of a special protein - interferon, which has immunostimulating, antiviral and other biologically active qualities.

"Levomekol" ointment, the use of which is so popular, also includes polyethylene glycol. This element provides the adsorbing property of the drug and its stability.

It is noted that the joint effect of all substances that make up Levomecol strengthens the therapeutic effect of the individual components of the drug. That is why the drug in question retains antibacterial activity even in the presence of necrotic masses formed in the process of decay and pus.

Medication "Levomekol". Disease treatment

This drug is indicated for getting rid of purulent wounds that are infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and E. coli, staphylococci and other mixed microflora. It reduces swelling and restores damaged tissue.

This pharmaceutical agent is widely used for the treatment of severe forms of acute hemorrhoids with necrosis areas.

Levomekol in gynecology is used to treat postpartum sutures (procedures are conducted for ten days). They are also greased with nipple cracks formed during breastfeeding.
