Breastfeeding: yes or no?

The attitude of others to such a delicate process as breastfeeding is ambiguous. Someone believes that breastfeeding should be as long as possible, because it is very important for the child. But many, alas, believe that breastfeeding is a vestige of the past. What kind of theory to adhere to, of course, you decide, but do not rush to take stereotypes adopted in society.

Our grandmothers breast-fed for a long time, this was the contraceptive effect. As you know, ovulation in breast-feeding is much less common. But breastfeeding in the last century began to recede into the background. It came to an absurdity. The woman was considered a "dray horse" in fact, but officially it sounded "an equal worker". But the essence did not change. And because of this supposed equality of rights, the woman was given only one month to the decree. Just think about this figure - with a crumb could only sit a month after birth. Is it possible to breastfeed full-fledged under such conditions? Of course not.
Unfortunately, this stereotype is strong. Almost the entire 20th century was held under the slogan that a woman should work. It is not surprising that even now many have become victims of these prejudices and deny a prolonged (in their opinion) breast-feeding.

But let's face it impartially. Is it necessary? What is its use and can the milk formula replace mother's milk?

The fact that the mother's milk contains a huge amount of antibodies that protect the child from infections. And the number of them does not decrease (again according to stereotypes) after one year. Even if a woman is breastfeeding for 2-3 years, milk does not become less useful. Another thing is that, starting from 6 months, it is time to introduce complementary foods, but it is not worth completely giving up breast milk. Milk mixtures can not give this.

By the way, not only antibodies and vitamins give breast milk to the baby. In this delicate process a subtle spiritual connection is born between mother and child. The children who were breastfed are calmer, they are more adaptable in the team. And it does not matter, it's about kindergarten or about school years. The child feels the need for his mother and realizes his unity with her.

But there are also such cases: there is breastfeeding, chest pain makes itself felt. What is it? If this happens, then you need to revise your daily routine and feeding. Perhaps you are not expressing enough, or the baby is suckling unevenly. For example, it is more convenient for you to hold his right hand and give, respectively, the right breast.

It is extremely difficult to breastfeed during mastopathy. Mastopathy is nothing but a change in the tissues of the breast, which is fraught with the formation of seals, nodes, often all painful when feeling. This disease is fraught with the fact that either it passes ... or generates a tumor of a different nature, up to malignant. Therefore, in any case, it should pay close attention. If you had such a problem before pregnancy, then prolonged breastfeeding is especially important, as according to the research of many scientists it helps to get rid of this ailment.

Contrast shower greatly influences the production of milk and helps opening dairy channels. Take it daily for 10-15 minutes, combining cold (cool) and hot water. It is necessary to finish it with cool water.

And we hasten to dispel one myth. Many believe that it is almost impossible to get pregnant by breastfeeding. Yes, indeed, the ability to conceive is reduced, since the hormone responsible for milk production suppresses ovulation. But this method of protection, if it can be called so, is extremely unreliable. And according to statistics, almost a third of women, even in the absence of ovulation, become pregnant or have the opportunity to become pregnant, even breastfeeding. This is too large a number to consider breastfeeding a suitable way to protect against a repeat pregnancy.

But be that as it may, do not give up breastfeeding if you want to be closer with your baby.
