The drug 'Zitrolid': instruction, analogues, contraindications

The medicine "Zitrolide" is an antimicrobial drug from the group of macrolides. Despite the fact that it was created to combat microbial infections, if a very high concentration of the drug is created at the site of inflammation, it can have an antibacterial effect.

The drug "Sietrolide", the instruction to the medicine indicates this, does not affect only bacteria resistant to erythromycin (Gram-positive).

The active substance of this drug is azithromycin, the auxiliary substances are magnesium stearate and cellulose. The substances are placed in a capsule of white color of gelatin, the cap at the capsule is orange.

What treats the drug "Sietrolide"?

The instruction gives clear recommendations. The medicine is prescribed for treatment:

  • Angina, sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media of the middle ear, other infections of the upper respiratory tract;
  • Bronchitis, pneumonia, lower respiratory tract diseases;
  • Dermatoses, erysipelas, impetigo, other skin diseases caused by gram-positive microbes or bacteria;
  • Urogenital infections ;
  • Ulcers of the stomach, duodenum, if they are caused by Helicobacter pylori;
  • Scarlet fever.

Well-proven drug "Sietrolide" with genyantritis. However, he is not appointed to all. Like any antibiotic, the drug "Zitrolide" (the instruction warns about this) has contraindications. It is contraindicated for people who do not tolerate antibiotics-macrolides, nursing and pregnant. With great care, the antibiotic is prescribed to people suffering from arrhythmia. He is not shown to patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, a newborn.

Antibiotics sometimes have side effects, not entirely pleasant. Does it have side effects? Zitrolide?

The instruction states that side effects do not occur often, but they can be. It can cause nausea, upset of the stool, vomiting, pain in the abdomen. Sometimes, especially in children, constipation occurs. In adults, the level of transaminase may increase, jaundice, cholecystitis, gastritis appear. Significantly more common hives, allergic swelling, itching. In extremely rare cases, the antibiotic "Zitrolide", the instruction warns, can cause dizziness, arrhythmia, anxiety, insomnia.

However, already such contraindications are enough to not use the medicine without the appointment of a specialist. Only the doctor prescribes the drug. He also selects the right doses of the medicine.

Most often, the drug is taken on half a gram once a day for sinusitis. In other cases, the drug "Zitrolide" instruction recommends taking 1 g in the first dose and half a gram in the following.

The medicine can not be consumed for more than three days, and its total amount in the body should not exceed 1.5 g for sinusitis and 3 g for other infections.

In case of an overdose, severe nausea, a sharp drop in pressure, vomiting, temporary hearing loss may occur.

Most often this preparation is packaged in 250 mg capsules. However, there is a drug "Zitrolide 500", in which the active substance is more than doubled.

Antibiotic, released in Russia, "Sietrolide", like any drugs, has analogs produced in other countries. This is the Croatian drug Sumamed, the Serbian - Chemomycin, our Russian preparations Azitrox, Zi-factor, Czech - Azitsid, Indian - Zitrocin, Lithuanian - Ecomed, Turkish - Tremak-Sanovel ".

Despite the fact that drugs have a similar effect on microbes, when replacing them, you should always consult your doctor. Preparations, first, can contain auxiliary substances that do not coincide with the composition of the antibiotic "Zitrolide." Secondly, the requirements for the production of drugs are different in different countries, so drugs can differ in the quality and concentration of the active substance.

All drugs are expensive. However, replacing the medicine prescribed by the doctor for another, you need to think carefully: is it worth saving money on your health?
