It grows on any soils, from acidic to alkaline, prefer fertile and moderately moist, which means frequent watering, however, standing water can ruin the root system, so it is necessary to make drainage from sand, broken bricks, rubble, etc. Thuya can withstand a drought. Plant preferably in the sun or in the penumbra, in the shadow of its crown thinning and fading, stand for various pests and diseases. Colon-shaped thuja is not recommended in the first year after planting to feed fertilizers, for the second year it is possible to fertilize with universal fertilizers once a month. With the correct watering, fertilizing and haircut in a year the plant will enjoy a beautiful hedge. The tree must be regularly cut to form a thicker crown. He loves sprinkling, besides it will help to wash off the accumulated dust. It is also called the tree of life, because it emits useful substances into the atmosphere.

Thuya looks good both in a hedge and in a single planting. They are used as a decorative element in landscape design, applying a figured haircut. So you can create original, fanciful shapes of the crown, which do not get lost in any mixed compositions.
