KTU-10 - tractor forage: description, performance, characteristics

Today, there are many types of special agricultural machinery that facilitates manual labor in farming, including cattle. Since the traditional vehicle is a tractor, the manufacturers for different jobs produce trailing devices. One of these devices is the KTU-10 feeder.

Purpose of the feeder

The main function of this type of trailing device is clear from its name. The full name - "KTU-10, a tractor universal feeder".

It feeds, is transported from the place of preparation or storage to cattle sheds or open areas and during the movement is dosed out into the feeding troughs. Food can be chopped straw, haylage, cereals or legumes, cut beets or carrots, full-feed mixtures.

In addition, the device can be used for servicing maize and forage harvesting equipment, for transporting and unloading various agricultural cargoes and for dosing feed prepared feeds to storage facilities and stationary distributors on farms.

When the feed is distributed to the right side in the course of travel or on both sides, this is the basic version in which the KTU-10 feeder is filled. The manufacturer, as a rule, offers the manufacture of the device with the distribution on the left side by individual order.

Features of operation

There are special requirements that must be observed when working with KTU-10. Feed dispenser is used to distribute feed only in certain sizes. The haylage must be crushed to a length of no more than 40 mm, other feeds - 60 mm. And the content of particles with such dimensions is more than 80%, length over 150 mm is allowed only in not more than 5% of the total mass of the feed.

If dry food is transported and distributed, the KTU-10 can be operated in the temperature range from -40 ° C to +50 ° C. But for distribution of wet forages - only at a temperature above 0 ° С.

The height of the feeders is recommended to be no more than 75 cm, the width of the gate should be from 2,6 m, and the aft passage - not less than 2,2 m.

Agricultural tractors with traction effort of 9 and 14 kN (traction class 0,9 and 1,4 respectively) is a technique with which it is possible to aggregate the feeder KTU-10.

Specifications

The most important characteristics of the device are its load capacity and body volume, that is, capacity. Feeder KTU-10 transports 4 tons of cargo up to 10 cubic meters. M. It weighs a little more than 2 tons.

The feed distributor is a tractor trailer whose front wheels are swivel driven. The mechanisms by which the feed are loosened, moved and dosed, are located in the body.

The rear axle is simple in design - it is a beam made of rolled metal of a certain profile. But the front is a tubular beam, on which the trunnions of wheels with pivoting fists are welded . The dispenser is a longitudinal (chain transmission) and a transverse (tensioned on the rolls) conveyors, as well as two drum beater, which are fixed in the side edges of the body. The drive of its working bodies is carried out from the PTO of the tractor through the drive mechanisms of the feed distributor.

The work of KTU-10

Prepared, pre-crushed feed is loaded evenly into the body of KTU-10. The feed distributor of the tractor is fed into the aft passage. It already includes the power take-off shaft. A longitudinal conveyor with scrapers feeds the beets to the biters, which loosens them and, in turn, is fed to the transverse conveyor, and it distributes depending on the distributor's design one or both at the same time.

If the unit operates as a self-unloading trailer, the longitudinal conveyor unloads the feed back through the tilted tailgate.

The rate of distribution is regulated by adjusting the ratchet mechanism, and also changing the speed of the longitudinal conveyor and tractor.

All these works can be performed by one person, providing a herd of fodder for 300-400 heads.

Modifications of the feeder

The KT-6 feeder has a lower load capacity and dimensions, but with a greater body capacity. It is 6 cu. M. This unit due to the small size of a significantly maneuverable prototype.

Model KTU-10A completely repeats the basic one on technical characteristics. It features a reinforced body frame and a swivel circle.

The feeder KTU-10 is produced on the balancers. This modification is marked with the number "1" and represents a tractor uniaxial semi-trailer on twin wheels.

KTU-10 is a feed distributor, one of the modifications of which can be found in almost every cattle-breeding farm. And the herdsmen will stop using it, only when (if it happens at all) the process of preparation, movement and feeding of feeds into the feeding troughs will be fully automated.
