JSC "Moscow Helicopter Plant. M.L. Milya ": history, production, products

OJSC "Moscow Helicopter Plant named after Milya ML" is the main developer of helicopters in the Russian Federation. The company's activities are related to the design, production, repair and testing of aircraft, including military and dual-purpose equipment. It is an important link in the industry association "Russian Helicopters".

Historical reference

The roots of the Moscow Helicopter Plant. ML Milya lead to a small design bureau, created in 1947 by the genius aircraft designer Mil. Since the mid-1940s, the first Soviet helicopter was developed in the Design Bureau, but the command was skeptical about the new technology. Production of helicopters was constantly postponed.

Cardinally, the situation changed after the successful use of the Sikorsky helicopters by the US Army in the Korean conflict. Tests of the Soviet prototype GM-1 (later renamed into the Mi-1) showed its performance. In 1951, the government took a bold step - provided in the introduction of Mikhail Leontievich plant number 3, located in the Moscow region Sokolniki.

After the transfer of the Mi-1 to mass production at the airlines of the USSR and Poland, the design bureau was commissioned to design and fabricate experimental flight models of the first Soviet vehicles for the transport of landing and cargo. For these purposes the workshops were rebuilt, the machinery and technology park was updated. In 1953 the enterprise received a new number of GAS number 329, and in 1967 it was renamed into a cost center (Moscow Helicopter Plant).

In 1960, to build a large family of helicopters, the company needed to expand its capacity. On the territory of the wood warehouse, located in the village of Panki, a production and laboratory base was built. The OKB itself, the laboratory, the pilot production, the residential building are located here. Mil died on 31.01.1970. His name was given to the Moscow Helicopter Plant.

By the end of the 70s a new building of the design bureau was completed on the Sokolnicheskiy shaft. The perestroika years, which were held under the slogan of military and political detente, are characterized by a decrease in the financing of defense enterprises. The cost center was forced to freeze a number of unique projects. In 1993 the plant was privatized.

Today the company performs a huge range of works. In particular, such include the prolongation of the life cycle of the helicopter, repair and restoration works, engineering and technical support of operation, modernization of helicopter equipment.

Production

The modern territory of the Moscow Helicopter Plant named after ML Mil is located on the edge of Sokolniki Park and is cut in half by the route of the Third Ring Road. In its place a hundred years ago there was an undeveloped swampy terrain along which the Rybinka River flowed. For several centuries, the area was considered one of the most remote outskirts of Moscow and has not been built up for a long time.

The main production and design capacities are located at: 140070, Moscow Region., Luberetskiy rn, pos. Tomilino Str. Garshina-26/1. In addition to the territory in Sokolniki, the cost center has a pilot production and ground test facility in Pankas and a flight test facility located at the Medvezhye Ozera airfield.

The Moscow Helicopter Plant named after MLMil carries out:
