An interviewer who communicates with applicants can prepare a list of provocative questions in advance, but they can come to mind already during the conversation itself. So, as you know, it will not be possible to prepare the answers in advance.

The goal of a recruiter creating a stressful situation and adding a moment of surprise to interview questions is an attempt to disrupt a potential employee, make him nervous and commit rash acts.

The simplest version of the provocative question of a person who wants to conduct an interview qualitatively and identify the weak points of the applicant is the interest in the previous job. In this case, the potential employee begins to lose, because the question is not specified specifically and there is a temptation to talk about everything in a row. To get out of this situation is quite simple: it is enough to ask what working moments interest the employer.

Another simple, but quite effective way to get the applicant out of himself is to pause after his answers. So, a competent interviewer, after listening to an answer to a question, often pauses and seems to be waiting for the continuation. If you all said that you wanted, you can simply say that you are ready for the next question. Some inexperienced applicants are beginning to come up with some text, which after a logically completed answer sounds extremely ridiculous.

Sometimes it happens that you gave a full exhaustive answer to the question asked, but the employer says that he did not understand something from the narrated and asks to repeat it. Such a situation can happen more than once, which often results in a competitor. Stop! Is this what the recruiter is trying to achieve by testing you for stress resistance?

The above provocative interview questions are quite typical, but you can create a completely unordinary situation, for example, asking why the hatchways are round.

As you can see, you can come up with provocative questions, and when answering them, the main thing to remember is that the potential employer values not the information obtained in this way, but how you managed to react to the stressful situation.
