Hypertension and its main stages

Hypertension or persistent increase in arterial pressure is a very specific disease, and like all specific it can not be determined and occurs only in one form. The causes of hypertension are quite a lot, it is a hereditary predisposition and a wrong way of life including bad habits and diseases of internal organs, stresses and many other factors that to some extent influence our body.

However, in view of all this complexity, perhaps the most unpleasant thing is that so far doctors can not determine the causes of hypertension with a certain degree of certainty. Therefore, often coming to see a neurologist, he sends you to collect various information in the form of tests and diagnostic studies. And even after that the picture is not complete. Here against the background of this in order to somehow determine the state of health of the patient, it was decided to group hypertensive patients in 3 degrees of severity.

In general, the distribution by groups is based on how exactly high blood pressure rises and how long it keeps at the same time. Thus, I will try to describe each stage separately.

The first stage. The easiest and perhaps the most sparing so ka in this case, the patient still has a chance to recover from this disease by taking appropriate measures (for example, changing her lifestyle) and having completed a certain course of treatment. If we talk about the limits of blood pressure, it is 140-160 for the upper and 90-100 for the lower pressure level.

The second stage is a point of no return, that is, if you determined that you have a second stage, then it means that hypertension has stuck to you forever. Of course, this is not a sentence, but the quality of life will deteriorate noticeably. The limits of the second stage are as follows: 160-170 for the upper level and 100-110 for the lower diastolic pressure.

The third stage is the most severe, at which there are some irreversible processes in the body, that is, there are lesions of the internal organs and the cardiovascular system. Limits exceed 180/110 that is, can be very high pressure.

In addition, in determining the stage and general hypertension, age should also be taken into account, since, for example, for an elderly person, the parameters of the first and even the second stage are normal, since the condition of the vessels worsens with age, and the elderly person can feel quite normal.

And even more speaking, if we say that their blood pressure drops to about 150/100, their well-being deteriorates sharply. That is, it turns out that the normal pressure (and it is equal to 120/80) for a normal person with age is not at all normal. It seems to be nonsense, but in practice it happens that way.

As well as wrote above nuances very much and in one article all to not transfer, sometimes there are also 4 and even 5 stages of a hypertension, but it more likely specifying indicators which are entered individually. In any case, hypertension is not good and it is necessary to fight it at any stages and at any age.

Be healthy, I will be happy to answer your questions regarding this subject, I write on the basis of my experience.
