Hyperrealism: pictures that are not distinguishable from reality

Surely everyone at least once met in his newsline pictures, very similar to photographs. At first glance it is rather difficult to understand whether such work was done with the help of modern digital technology or created with a brush and paints. As a rule, these are drawings of artists who have chosen the style of hyperrealism for themselves. The paintings look very much like photos, but they often carry more.

What is hyperrealism?

This style has appeared relatively recently and has already won many fans and has faced the hatred of those who do not understand the meaning in copying reality. Few art styles in painting cause as much controversy as they were generated by hyperrealism.

The first such works the world saw in the 70s of the XX century. The amazingly accurate copying of reality was so amazing to minds that the style quickly became very popular. Now even more attention to him is attracted by endless arguments between fans and opponents of unusual paintings.

The subject of a clash of opinions, as a rule, becomes one question about why to paint something that can be photographed. The essence of hyperrealism is that it draws close attention to the viewer's most ordinary things. This is due to a multiple increase in scale, the rejection of a complex background and surprising clarity of the image. The artist who has chosen the style of hyperrealism does not impose his opinion on the viewer - all his works are simple and surprisingly realistic.

What do hyperrealists paint?

The object of the artist's work, working in the style of hyperrealism, can become practical any object that caught his eye. Fruits, plastic bags, glass, metal, water - anything can be embodied in the next picture. As a rule, hyperrealists show the viewer the chosen subject as if under a microscope, increasing its size several times and allowing a person to plunge into a completely different world.

Often the artist tries to draw the attention of the viewer to a particular detail, making it more contrast and smoothly dissolving everything else. At first glance, you can not even understand that attention is focused on this part of the picture only because the artist so wanted. This is the subtle psychology of hyperrealists, which allows you to manipulate emotions. But not all artists use this technique - some prefer to create works that completely replicate reality.

Hyperrealistic portraits

But among many works, style fans pay special attention to portraits. To draw a lemon that falls into a glass of water is difficult, but it is even more difficult to convey the emotions, mood and character of a person. Many modern artists complicate their work by the fact that they water the model with paint, water or oil to make the picture more original.

But in general, hyperrealists do not limit themselves in choosing a theme for drawing. Like many other artistic styles in painting, this kind of art can present almost anything to the viewer's court.

Than draw

The materials with which the hyperrealists work can be completely different. Very popular work done with oil or acrylic. The juiciness of colors allows the artist to create contrasting, bright and really attractive pictures.

But there are other materials with which real talents create works in the style of hyperrealism. Pencil, for example, often perform portraits. It allows you to clearly draw wrinkles on the face, the smallest elements of the iris of the eye, hair and so on. Color pencils artists-hyperrealists create incredibly sunny and bright portraits.

Watercolor is more suitable for drawing landscapes in the style of hyperrealism. The paintings are light and airy - translucent paint allows better transfer of space. Despite the fact that artists often draw cityscapes, forests, lakes and turbulent rivers, they rarely go out for work from home. Virtually all pictures are drawn by hyperrealists from photographs, which they themselves often do.

Famous Artists

Many saw pictures of artists drawing in this style, but few people heard their names. One of the most famous hyperic players is Will Cotton. His "sweet" paintings can not help attracting attention. As a rule, they depict girls in clouds resembling cotton candy, or various desserts - cakes, cookies, gingerbread houses , etc.

It is impossible not to note the landscapes of Rafaella Spence, made in the style of hyperrealism. The paintings of this artist amaze with their liveliness, which makes them virtually indistinguishable from photographs.

Gerhard Richter, who created many works in the style of abstractionism, is one of the most famous hyperrealists. People and objects in his paintings look a little blurry, as if the light passes right through them. Thanks to this unusual effect, Richter's paintings can be easily recognized among many others.

It is worth paying tribute to artists who paint in the style of hyperrealism. The paintings created by them are examples of the highest craftsmanship.
