How useful is mulberry for health?

In the Kuban, in the Stavropol Territory and in the Rostov region, one can find a tree with dark green foliage and wrinkled bark growing in plantings or simply in the streets and courtyards of houses. If you approach it in early summer, you can see that the ground beneath it is strewn with dark or whitish, strawberry-like berries. This tree carries the Latin name morus, although most of the inhabitants of our country are more known as mulberry. Why is mulberry useful?

It was he who brought him to Russia and ordered him to plant mulberry in the Crimea and in the south of the country by his imperial decree. Traces of those attempts are still encountered in the Moscow region. True, because of the cold, the trees degenerated into a bush. The advantage of this tree, first of all, is that its leaves serve as a food for the famous silkworm, whose cocoons go to the production of silk. In the Kuban there are several factories producing silk. In the East, mulberry is generally considered a sacred tree. The Caucasus is very popular with mulberry wine, both pure and mixed with grape. But not only because of silk and delicious fruit is valuable this tree, the therapeutic properties of mulberry are also appreciated.

Residents of the southern regions of the country know perfectly well that there are two varieties of mulberry trees: mulberry white and mulberry black. Useful properties of their somewhat different, but the taste of both, and the other is excellent. They got their name because of the different coloring of the fruit. In the black variety, they are purple-black, giving a thick juice that stains the skin. And in white mulberry berries have a white, slightly pinkish tint, and you can use them without fear of getting dirty. By the way, if you still did not save your hands or lips from staining, then simply rub them with immature berries, since they can simultaneously be on the same branch with ripe ones. And how delicious is the mulberry jam! Useful properties are also available, as it is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent. The juice, squeezed from white mulberry berries, perfectly lowers the temperature, it is rich in vitamin C, and it also has a high content of potassium. When anemia is a disease, it is recommended to take a glass of ripe berries of black mulberry a day. Immature berries will help get rid of heartburn and normalize stomach problems. How useful is mulberry yet? Its fruits contain antioxidants, and the use of berries in food allows you to fight the aging of the skin and normalize immune processes.
