How to properly massage the muscles of the head

Massage of the muscles of the upper part of the head is made directly in the direction of hair growth and along the lead-out ducts of skin sebaceous glands, placing the fingers near the roots of the hair as close as possible. Then the muscles of the head are massaged more effectively.

Women with long hair massage is done in two ways:

  • With combing the hair into the proline and exposing individual parts of the head;
  • On the hair, without exposing the skin.

Massage with combing hair into the progenitor

In the sagittal direction, parting with a comb from the middle of the border of the forehead (where the hair begins) to the nape is made. Then put the palm surface of the fingers on the parting so that their tips touch each other, and along the whole part of the process, a light, soft, flat stroking is performed in front of the back to excite the cutaneous nerve endings that directly affect the muscles of the head.

Then do a deep stroking to clear the excess skin secret of the gland duct and strengthen the blood supply to the skin at the roots of the hair. Thus, the metabolism in the soft tissues of the upper part of the skull improves, and the muscles of the head become more elastic. After stroking, produce a semicircular grinding of the scalp (or zigzag) with the right hand (pads of the second and third fingers). Meanwhile, the fingers of the left - retreat a couple of centimeters from the parting, holding the scalp.

Even more excite the nerve endings in the scalp scalp. They crush the deposits of the sebaceous glands and contribute to even more effective than with stroking, cleaning the skin from dandruff (horny scales). Cleansing is applied by shifting the skin. When this procedure is performed, the thumbs of the fingers move it towards themselves and away from themselves, easily pressing on the skin. So, the entire surface and muscles of the head are gradually processed. To improve skin mobility, accelerate local blood circulation in the tissues of the upper part of the head, combine shifting of the skin with its stretching.

On the hair-covered parts of the head, also use intermittent vibration by puncturing. Perform it with two fingers in turn (index and middle) or four at a time, tapping with quick and short strokes. Having treated in this way one part, make the next parallel to the first. It should be about two centimeters from the first parting in any direction. Repeat the same massage techniques. In the same way, massage is done on the transverse diameter of the head.

Head massage by hair

Massaging the scalp over the hair, movements are also produced along and across the head. Massage techniques are the same: easy stroking (surface-planar and deep), kneading (stretching and shearing) and puncturing (intermittent vibration).

The stroking is performed by a grabbing technique (the ends of the half-bent fingers): first longitudinally in the direction from the forehead to the occiput, and then transversely from the temple to the occiput and forehead. Deep stroking should be very gentle, so as not to damage the skin at the roots of the hair.

The rubbing on the head is performed by spiral or semicircular movements in the same directions: longitudinal and transverse. The position of the hands depends on the direction in which massage movements are currently performed.

When doing kneading, the scalp is shifted and stretched in different directions. Moving the skin from front to back, the palms have one on the back of the head, the other on the forehead. When you move left and right to the sides of the ears, the palms of the hands are under the auricles and clasp your head.

It is recommended to stretch the temporal and occipital muscles before the massage of the upper part of the head with light circular motions to improve the venous circulation and lymph flow. And after the massage of the head, massage and stretch the muscles of the neck.
