How to paint the scratches on the machine with your own hands?

Unfortunately, no modern car is insured against damage in the form of chips, dents and scratches. Of course, with modern tools and technologies, these problems can be eliminated very quickly. But the cost of such work creates a big problem. In this regard, many motorists make cosmetic repair of the body itself. And today we will consider how to paint the scratches on the machine correctly.

What needs to be done first thing?

So, we have a scratch on the car. What to do? At the first stage, of course, you need to do a sweep. That is, the surface of the paintwork, which was damaged, thoroughly degreased and cleaned of traces of road dust, dirt and other deposits. It is also necessary to remove corrosion marks if you found them there. On the issue of rust, go very seriously, because this may depend on the future appearance of your car. If corrosion is eliminated poorly, no primer can guarantee you a normal adhesion of the paint to the metal.

How to paint the scratches on the machine next? Further the body should be processed by a sheet of an emery paper. If this is a scratch, we take an exceptionally fine-grained nazhdachku and carefully process the damaged places on the body.

Putty

After stripping, the deformed surface is exposed to putty. It is best to take the polyester together with the hardener. Also we will need rubber spatulas. After mixing the hardener and putty, you can safely apply the resulting substance to the body. Be careful - if you incorrectly observe the mixing ratio of these two components, this product can harden before applying to the metal (right on the spatula!). Therefore, pay attention to the instructions.

Surface sanding

After applying the putty, wait approximately 1-2 hours (depending on the mixing ratio of the hardener) and use coarse-grained emery paper to remove coarse irregularities that were formed after self-repair. Further all this should be fixed with fine-grained sandpaper. By the way, if it is only a scratch, it is not necessary to apply coarse-grained, since one uneven movement can damage some of the surviving paint.

Check the quality of the work performed is very simple. After sanding, hold the palm over the surface to be repaired. If you do not feel any bumps and other irregularities, then the work is done on "5 with a plus".

Primer

Now proceed to one of the most critical stages - priming. This substance can be purchased in several forms - in the form of an aerosol sprayer or a small jar. It is best to trust the first option, as this will ensure not only the speed, but also the quality of the work performed. Ground, sprayed from a canister, falls evenly on the entire surface of the site being repaired, and moreover dries quickly (no more than 10-15 minutes). You can apply in one or more layers. It all depends on the scale of the work. But, as practice shows, it is enough to apply only one layer of soil, and the paint will perfectly hold on the body.

Remove minor scratches on the machine. Selection and application of paint

One of the most difficult stages is choosing the right paint for the car. Now millions of different colors are sold in stores, but we can not guarantee that it will look exactly the same as your car. In order to accurately be sure of your choice, you need to know in advance the number of your body paint. It is very simple to do this - it is enough to find a small embossing machine with technical and other data on the machine. Most often it is painted in body color. For example, on the cars "Daewoo Nexia" this plate is in the engine compartment. Find it simply - it is located between the hood and the grille (slightly to the left, when viewed from the driver's seat). The color is marked with several numbers and letters. On the same "Nexia", for example, white color is denoted by the code "10 L".

Having learned the exact number of the body paint, you can safely go to the market, and there sellers will pick up the necessary goods, which coincides 100 percent with the factory shade. A pencil against scratches on the machine is unlikely to help.

Now about the application. You can do this by two methods - using a nebulizer and a thin brush. A better way, of course, will be the first, but not all of us have such a paint equipment. Therefore, we buy a thin brush and dunk it in a jar of paint. By the way, in the last before work it is necessary to add several milliliters of hardener, so that the substance is better kept on the primer.

How to paint the scratches on the machine? Application of varnish

After carrying out all the above manipulations, you can safely proceed to the final stage - the application of lacquer. For this we need to buy a special spray can in the store. Before performing the work (if you do not have such experience) it is better to practice on some other surface. After that, we degrease the already painted area and apply the varnish to the body. Sometimes the surface after that becomes nonsmooth. In this case, using a 1300-gauge sandpaper at an angle of 45 degrees, you need to carefully handle the painted surface. But do not be very zealous - with one careless motion, you risk taking off all the paint!

Finally the surface is treated with a non-abrasive polish. How to polish scratches on the machine? To do this you will need a rag and a tube of the above substance. In a circular motion, the polish is absorbed into the microcracks, and then the LCP becomes less vulnerable to external influences. Before polishing the scratches on the machine, you need to move away from the sun. Then the result will be positive. So, we found out how to paint the scratches on the machine.
