How to mount a GVL for the floor?

Gypsum-fiber sheet (UDK) is a popular finishing material based on gypsum. For strength, it is reinforced with fluff pulp and other materials. Unlike the same "dry plaster" this material is completely homogeneous, which greatly increases its value for finishing works. In particular, it is possible to use GWL for the floor.

The easiest way to do this is by using a dry screed, since it has many positive qualities. In particular, when using a wet variety, one will have to wait until the material dries, simultaneously preventing moisture from entering the lower floors. If you put a dry GVL for the floor, the work time is reduced, and the top floor covering can be laid on the same day. It is very important to start with the construction of claydite, which also serves to level the surface. For a vapor barrier, any quality polymer film can be taken.

We proceed to laying

Having determined this, it is necessary to fix the edge band around the perimeter of the room. It has two important functions: first, the tape performs the function of a "shock absorber", not allowing material to break from the vibrations of the instrument. Secondly, it also does not allow deformation of GWL for the floor under sharp temperature fluctuations.

After laying the tape, you need to cut it as carefully as possible along the edge of your future floor covering. After cutting off, lay on the foil only or parchment (do not forget to put polyethylene beforehand). The material is lapped. Then scatter claydite, the diameter of the fraction of which does not exceed 5 mm, constantly adjusting for the construction level. After that, the embankment can be rammed. If its thickness exceeds 0.1 m, then it is best to do this by dividing the entire volume into several layers, sealing each of them after falling asleep.

The first sheets of GWL for the floor begin to be laid from the corner. After that, the surface of the material is coated with a special mastic or conventional PVA glue, and then in a strictly perpendicular direction the second layer of GVL is mounted.

Be sure to remove all surplus mastic, which will inevitably act between seams. If in the future you will lay something like a laminate, the seams will need to be thoroughly plastered. When everything is ready, GWL for the floor can be primed.

Cut the material to fit only after laying the last row. So you will achieve not only a uniformity of installation, but also do not allow coincidence of seams in different layers. Otherwise, it is possible to subsidence the floor. For work it is better to use the power tool (it will greatly facilitate your work) with a small pitch of the teeth.

Please note that in the front row the width of the seams should in no case be more than two millimeters, so approach the dimensions fit seriously. In addition, we have already mentioned that when laying a layer of expanded clay it is necessary to constantly check with the level. If you have any flaws, then the laminate, laid on top of the sheets, eventually inevitably deforms.
