How to make glowing water at home? Experimenting with children

Not so long ago, a very popular amusement became luminous water. You can get it at home. That's just this procedure leaves behind a rather large amount of dirty dishes. Therefore, please note that such a chemical attraction for children will then turn into a large-scale cleaning in the kitchen. Within the room, the experiment is not recommended to avoid spots on the carpets and costly flooring.

This kind of trick can be done by everyone. The original water lighting, made by adding a specific set of special components, will become a beautiful neon decoration of the room. But do not forget about precautions. Especially if there are children nearby. Make sure that the reagents are not in the mouth of the kids.

How to make luminous water with your own hands? Here is the list of components that you will need for this experiment:

  • Luminol - 0.15 g.
  • Copper sulfate (you can also use red blood salt or ferric chloride) - 3 g.
  • Water - 100 ml.
  • A solution of caustic soda is about 10 ml.
  • Hydrogen peroxide 3% (to be found at the pharmacy) - 80 ml.
  • Special dyes with fluorescent properties (brilliant green, rubren and others).
  • Tubes, flasks and other transparent glass containers.

All these components are easy to find in specialized stores. So, let's start the cooking process. Luminol is a powder of a yellow shade. However, when it enters an acidic or neutral solution, it starts to glow with a pleasant neon blue color. This is the main component. In his absence, the experiment is doomed to failure. How to make luminous water at home? Very simple. First of all, stock up with luminol.

First pour water into the container. Then add the same powder of luminol. It must completely dissolve. Then peroxide should be poured in hydrogen peroxide. After that, you can add copper sulfate. It will also successfully replace red blood salt or ferric chloride. All these components can be purchased at a store specializing in chemical reagents at an affordable price. However, it happens that at your disposal there will be none of the above. Then you will have to use improvised means. How to make luminous water without special chemical reagents? You will be surprised how simple this is. Simply squeeze a small amount of fresh blood from the meat (for example, a chicken leg is suitable) and add it to the flask, previously diluted in water. You will need about 1 tablespoon of this mixture. Then add caustic soda. Did you want to learn how to make luminous water? Congratulations, the experiment was a success. Turn off the light and admire the blue glow emanating from the bulb. Do you want to get water of a different color? No problems. Add to the tank any fluorescent dye that only the soul will desire. Do this experiment with your children, and they will be delighted. If you do not take into account the presence of chemical reagents, in general this focus can be considered absolutely safe.
