Primary syphilis - hard chancre and other symptoms.

Syphilis before the onset of AIDS was the most serious disease of all diseases that are sexually transmitted. The disease itself is divided into several periods, which directly depend on the degree of damage to the patient's body. First and foremost, it is necessary to say that the bacterium that causes syphilis can exist in the host for a long time, without manifesting itself at all, if the symptoms of the disease become visible, the primary stage of syphilis begins.

For primary syphilis characterized by education, which is called hard chancre. Hard chancre is a small sore that arises at the site of penetration of the pathogen into the patient's body. Soft chancre differs from a solid chancre in its composition. Most often chancres are formed on the genitals, in the anal passage or near it, on the chest or in the mouth. Quite often there are situations when the hard chancre, localized on the head of the penis, is not only not visible to the eye, but can not be probed by the doctor during the examination. Most often in this case chancroid resembles erosion, which has a rounded shape and uneven edges. A reddish yellow coating can cover the erosive part of the chancre. Chancre in the mouth can cause a lot of problems, in particular, if it is located on the throat, swallowing can be difficult, and palatine tonsils can also inflame, which will lead to a lot of other diseases, including hearing loss.

In addition to the appearance of chancre, other symptoms are also possible at the site of bacterial infection, which will indirectly talk about the presence of primary syphilis. These include, in particular, the involvement of lymph nodes, as well as the concomitant scleradenitis. Lymph nodes often increase not alone, but in whole groups, and in a variety of places, but in most cases, the localization of the inflammatory process is associated with the localization of chancre. In patients who suffer from primary syphilis, inflammation of the inguinal lymph nodes is most likely, because lymphocytes will first of all fight infectious agents in the center of their penetration. It is also quite often possible to observe and inflammation of the axillary, capillary, as well as submandibular lymph nodes.

The inflamed lymph node, besides the increase in size, does not show any more pathological symptoms - it is painless, mobile and not soldered with the surrounding tissue. In addition, the skin that surrounds the pathological knot does not change its structure in any way, neither inflammatory reactions nor, especially, necrosis foci are observed on it.

Primary syphilis can be conditionally divided into 2 stages:

  • Primary seronegative stage
  • Primary seropositive stage

The stage is divided between each other after a serological reaction, that is, a blood test on RW or a Wasserman reaction. The serological reaction becomes positive about 3 weeks after the first solid chancre appears on the patient's body.

If the chancre on the body disappeared, it does not at all mean that the disease has passed the patient or he has cured himself, thanks to his immunity. In the overwhelming majority of cases (and in the vast majority of cases for patients with seropositive reaction), this can only say one thing: that the primary stage of syphilis has come to an end and begins latent, that is, the latent stage of this disease. During this period in the patient's body, such abnormalities as temperature increase, general weakness, headaches and muscle pain may manifest.

Even without treatment, the chancre can not leave any traces on the patient's body, the scar after it remains only if there was an ulcer in the place of chancre.
