Such soft furniture differs primarily in the material of its upholstery. As with any clothing sewn from different fabrics, the approach to their different types will also be different. So, how to clean the sofa at home?

The easiest way is to look after furniture with leather or leatherette upholstery. In such couches, it's good enough to walk around corners and crevices with a vacuum cleaner with a thin brush or a special brush, and then wipe the upholstery with a soft damp cloth. You can also put on top special products to protect the skin.

But before you clean the sofa at home with fabric upholstery, it is better to read the label: for vinyl and textile options, the methods will be the same, for velor - completely different. These materials (jacquard, tapestry, fabric, etc.) are well cleaned with liquid detergents. After vacuuming it is enough to mix a couple drops of detergent for dishes with water and apply to the surface of the sofa with a brush with natural nap. But for upholstery made of velvet, velor or artificial suede, dry cleaning agents should be used.

Suede sofas, especially light colors, are best cleaned in special dry cleaners or (in extreme cases) to purchase a set of products for the care of suede shoes and use it.

Since under the upholstery there is usually a filler that absorbs moisture well, after you decide which way to clean the sofa, stock up immediately with what you will dry up the upholstery. It can be a normal hairdryer. After processing the upholstered furniture will need at least an hour to dry it to prevent the dampening of the internal contents.

Well, there are, of course, many national recipes, than to clean the upholstery of the sofa from specific impurities. So, stains from coffee and tea are well removed with a mixture of detergent and vinegar. Fruit juice is removed from the sofa more difficult. But with this task will cope with a mixture of ammonia and vinegar, put on the stain. Do not just rub it in order not to damage the texture of the upholstery. If the stains are old, before removing them you need to soak it well with this mixture.

Beer stains are removed with a soap solution. But to get rid of not only their appearance, but also the smell, it is better to wipe the place of contamination with a solution of vinegar. Blood stains, until they are dead, are easily removed with the help of ordinary cold water.

Red wine is very difficult to eliminate after drying. But while the stain is fresh, it must be sprinkled with salt, and then, when alcohol is absorbed into the salt, it can be easily removed with a vacuum cleaner.
