Cleaning the silver at home is a completely feasible procedure, the more proven methods are known to be quite a lot.

You can restore the former shine to silverware, but you must be careful not to harm them. Silver - soft metal and abrasive substances will not benefit him. Of course, you can buy a tool that you can clean silver at home and in any hardware store or in a shopping center where jewelry is sold. But they cost quite a lot of money. And since we undertook to clean silver at home, we will use the well-known "grandmother's" methods.

We will discuss in detail the most famous methods of cleaning silver products, which are used by ordinary people, who do not have the extra money and time to go shopping to find suitable compounds.

The first method, the most common - cleaning silver at home with the help of ammonia. The solution is prepared as follows: for one liter of ordinary water, only two tablespoons of alcohol are taken. If you want to strengthen the effect of the solution, you can use hydrogen peroxide and usual washing soap as additional ingredients. Products made of silver are aged in such a solution for no more than 15 minutes. Then it remains only to wipe them dry with a soft pile rag and admire the result.

Method two. If you do not have the above substances at hand, then try cleaning the silver at home with soda and salt. These substances are always at home and are very suitable for cutlery. Dilute in 500 grams of water 2 tablespoons of tea soda and put the solution on fire. After boiling, we lower the silver devices there and boil for 15 minutes. But in the saline solution, which is prepared in concentrations equal to one teaspoon of salt per glass of water, silver is aged for several hours, and then is also subjected to boiling. The process seems a little laborious, but very effective.

Way the third. As a cleaner used vinegar, citric acid or, do not be surprised, Coca-Cola. These substances do not require boiling. In order to clean silver at home with their help, it is enough just to heat liquids in a water bath, then in a warm kind applying on a soft cloth, thoroughly wipe the darkened silver. The dark raid disappears, as if it never happened.

Method four. Effective cleaning of silver at home with toothpaste, lipstick, and polishing silver rings, using a regular school eraser. For silver chains, this method does not work, but you can replace the above-mentioned "tools" with a tooth powder solution. It turns out to be rather liquid, since it is prepared in the proportion of 5 parts of water to 2 parts of the powder. With the help of a toothbrush, all details of precious jewelry are thoroughly washed, and then the silver product is simply washed under the head of running water.
