Grassy and tree-like peony: reproduction in several ways

By right, one of the most beautifully flowering plants is the peony. Reproduction of this beautiful shrub has its own characteristics, but there is nothing complicated in them, even inexperienced amateurs can master them. Today, gardeners are popular as the usual types of peonies, and peony is tree-like. Let's consider some ways of their multiplication.

Peony dendritic: reproduction by grafting

This method is, perhaps, the most laborious. As a rootstock, the roots of grassy pions are taken, more precisely, their segments are 10-15 cm long. For the scion, shoots are taken only this year. Cuttings are cut from them, on each of which there should be two eyes. Cooked roots for about 3 weeks are kept in a cool place. Now you need to take the graft (stalk) and make a cut on both sides of it from two sides, to form a wedge. On the rootstock (root), a cutout is made in the same shape, into which the stem is inserted tightly. The place of inoculation is coated with garden gauze or wrapped with polyethylene film. The resulting plants should be laid horizontally in a layer of moistened sawdust and remove it all in a shady place. A month later, you can plant in a greenhouse already a rooted peony. Reproduction in this way is done in early August. And in a permanent place, you can plant the plant only after a couple of years.

Reproduction of peonies by cuttings

This method can be called the easiest. For this, in summer, semi-mature shoots are cut obliquely under the kidney. Be sure to make sure that the kidneys are well developed. The leaves on the shoot are shortened by 2/3. All sections are processed by stimulators of root formation, and the cuttings are planted in a mixture of river sand and peat at an angle of 45 °. The buds must be completely buried, a layer of sand (1.5 cm) is poured on top to keep moisture. Boxes are covered with a film or glass, you should always make sure that the soil is wet. By October, rooted cuttings are planted in separate containers and should be kept in the greenhouse until spring. Peony: Reproduction by layers

In the spring, before the blossoming of flowers, well-developed shoots are selected. An incision is made on the lower part of the shoot (facing the ground). Escape gently bend to the ground, insert a small spacer and sprinkled with earth (layer 8-10 cm). All the time until rooting, you need to monitor the moisture of the soil, it should not dry out. The roots will appear sometime in late August or early September.

Peony: Bile Fission Multiplication

This is the most common and effective method of breeding both herbaceous and tree-like peonies. For division, it is necessary to take an already grown bush, which grows in the same place for at least 3 years. This is done between mid-August and the end of September. The bush should be excavated, cut off its stems at a height of 10 cm and dried for a couple of hours. If the bush is still young, then you can pull it apart in different directions. Otherwise, this is done with a sharp knife. Cut should be so that the delineation remains part of the root. Sites can be cut with manganese or charcoal. Then each delenka is planted on a permanent place.

Still peonies can be propagated with the help of seeds, but this is a rather laborious process. Only freshly harvested seeds are taken and are subjected to two stages of stratification before planting. In general, it will take a long time to mess with this. If you want to get a quick and reliable result, then it's best to use the method of dividing the bush, and multiplying by layers.
