In 2004, it was decided to close the airport "Gelendzhik" for reconstruction, which was spent about six billion rubles. To date, this air harbor has a runway, the length of which is 3100 meters, and the width - 60 meters. The construction of the main buildings and structures has been completely completed, and the construction of communications has been completed. The airport is able to accept aircraft of most types and all types of helicopters. In addition, there is a hydro-airport on its territory. The capacity of the Gelendzhik air harbor is eight take-offs / landings per hour.

To date, the airport operates one terminal, which is engaged in servicing only domestic flights. Its capacity is estimated at 140 passengers per hour, which corresponds to the forecast calculations of the demand for this direction. In the coming years, it is also planned to put into operation terminal No. 2, which will be equipped with twenty check-in counters and will be able to provide 400 passengers per hour on domestic flights, as well as 200 passengers per hour traveling internationally.

The air harbor is located just ten kilometers from the city center, near the M-4 highway. You can get to the hotel or sanatorium from the airport by the official taxi "Kuban Express" or by public transport: minibuses № 5, 12 and bus number 5.

Services at the airport

Despite its fairly compact size, the airport "Gelendzhik" is fully equipped with everything necessary for passengers. Also tourists note its convenience and comfort. There is a mother and child room in the airport building (it is located in the departure hall, to the left of the registration racks). It can be used free of charge by pregnant women, as well as women with children under seven years of age. In addition, the building of the air harbor is fully equipped for unhindered movement of people with disabilities.

There is a chargeable luggage storage for passengers. It is located in the terminal building next to the information desk. There is also a point of paid packing of luggage. It is located next to the ATMs of Sberbank and Gazprombank.

There is free wireless internet access in the terminal area. In the departure hall from half past nine in the morning until half past eight in the evening there are cafes and a pizzeria where you can have a snack in anticipation of landing on your flight.

At the airport "Gelendzhik" there is also a VIP-hall. It is located in the right wing of the terminal building. Here, passengers are offered a summer gazebo and a comfortable lounge with wireless internet, a bar, satellite TV and a fresh press. Also in the same hall you can register and pre-flight control. To the plane's side passengers will be delivered by special transport, and VIP-lounge staff will accompany them. Near the airport building there are two parking spaces: paid and free. Paid parking is located on the station square and can accommodate 144 cars. Every hour of parking here will cost a hundred rubles. However, the first 15 minutes of stay are free. Parking, for which no one will demand payment from you, is located two hundred meters from the terminal building and is designed for 60 cars.
