Face correction in Photoshop: change the shape and color

Even a professional high-quality camera is not always a guarantee of getting perfect shots. The skin of the model may have imperfections, sometimes it just falls down lightly, but what about the photos produced during blinking and other movements? It's quite possible to make a good photo from an unsuccessful photo, it's enough to master any graphic editor. Correction of the face is most natural in a popular program - Photoshop.

How to change the shape and complexion in Photoshop?

A common problem is that the model has a second chin or, because of the unfortunate foreshortening, the cheeks look too large or irregularly shaped. Correction of the face shape in the Photoshop program can be performed using a plastic filter. Before you start, copy the image to a new layer so that it's easy to compare the corrected version with the original. With the help of the "distortion" tool and selected, depending on the task set, the brush rules all the problem areas.

If you want to change a particular element without affecting the neighboring area, use the freezing mask. In order for face correction with plastic to be successful, remember: the size of the brush is selected in accordance with the size of the area being changed, the density setting determines the rigidity of the edge of the tool.

Another common problem of photographs is the skin imperfections of the model. The best tool against pimples, wrinkles and other skin defects is a stamp. The principle of its action is the cloning of the selected group of pixels. If you need to remove one or more minor deficiencies in the area, you can use this tool directly on the working layer. If a serious correction of the color or texture of the skin is required, the technology becomes somewhat more complicated.

On the new layer, select the skin of the face and apply a blur over the surface. The details should not be affected - the eyes, hair, lips and eyelashes should remain undiluted. We have a more uniform skin color, but it looks rather unnatural. Copy the face to a new layer, select the "hard light" blending mode. You can also select the appropriate texture.

If you want to level the complexion, apply full fills, choosing the desired flesh color. If the face correction is performed on a high resolution image, you can add a little noise (menu "filter noise"). Not always the chosen color completely corresponds to our expectations when pouring. You can change it by opening the color balance panel in the correction menu. Do not forget to mention the point of "toning". Next, create a mask layer. At maximum magnification, we color the skin of the face, varying the size of the brush as needed. If the resulting tone does not correspond to the natural tone, return to the texture layer and select the appropriate shade. The final stroke will be a Gaussian blur.

So, the face correction is almost complete, before you combine the layers and save the finished image, you can slightly change the brightness and contrast settings. With this processing in the initial stages, you can also use the "stamp" tool to eliminate too obvious imperfections.
