F-Secure: how to remove from a computer or mobile gadget?

Quite often, many users of computer systems and even mobile gadgets face the situation when any program or utility is deleted, if it ceases to be necessary, it is simply impossible. And the F-Secure anti-virus is no exception. Let's look at some of the simplest ways to remove this application entirely.

F-Secure: what is it?

As you can see, this application package is a comprehensive solution for protecting computer systems not only from numerous viruses, but also from the penetration of malicious executable codes, all sorts of Trojans, worms or spyware into the system.

For all these processes in real time, the F-Secure package is used. Feedback from users of computers and mobile gadgets, as well as many experts in the field of protective technology, in general, quite flattering. Modules that make up the utility work like a clock. But here's the problem: unfortunately, F-Secure remove from your device, when you need to install, say, other anti-virus software, as it turns out, is not so easy. But first things first.

Deletion by the standard method

To begin with, consider the simplest standard technique, designed for computers and laptops. In this case, we need to use the standard "Control Panel", where you need to select a section of programs and components (in the aging versions of Windows this is the section for installing and uninstalling programs).

In theory, if you scroll through the list, it should reflect either the main program or all its components, for example F-Secure Internet Security. Then we act, as they say, according to the template. Simply select the program or the desired component and start the uninstall process by clicking the appropriate button.

However, it is not a fact that absolutely all components, including residual files or entries in the system registry, will be completely deleted.

However, if the package was installed relatively recently (a week or two at most), you can try to roll back (restore) the system to a fix that fixed the state of the computer that preceded the installation of F-Secure.

But what if the installation of the application and all its components was carried out much earlier? As you know, Windows own uninstaller does not work the best way, leaving a lot of computer garbage in the system. Special tools will be needed here.

Using special programs to uninstall

Among the most powerful programs of this type, you can advise applications like iObit Uninstaller, CCleaner or Everything. Actually, they work according to similar principles.

That's just iObit looks preferable, because it has a special function Forced Uninstall and is integrated into the standard menu for uninstalling Windows programs. The application first deletes the main and minor files associated with the program, and then performs a comprehensive scan for residual records in the form of system registry keys. Unfortunately, and this does not always help. The user may not even know what exactly will remain in the system, and some processes will still "hang" when you start Windows.

Removing F-Secure using native utility

In this situation, we will need a special utility from the antivirus developers themselves. It is called the F-Secure Uninstallation Tool. Do you agree who knows the files, folders and registry keys better than the creators themselves in what amount are present in the system after the installation of the package?

Installation of the utility does not cause any difficulties. After uninstalling the antivirus, the utility itself can also be removed without much difficulty in the standard way.

However, there is one nuance here. The utility must be run when you log on to the system in safe mode. To do this, when you start Windows, use the F8 key. Now we simply start the program, activate the start of the F-Secure uninstall process, and after the restart we restart the computer. As it is already clear, after the reboot the utility is also deleted.

Mobile removal method

And what about mobile devices, for example, with operating systems such as Symbian or Android? When you change the SIM card, the program blocks the entrance to the gadget, prompting you to enter the password. But you do not remember him. I'll have to insert the old sim card.

After that, you can try to remove the mobile version of the antivirus either in the standard way from the application menu, or (if it does not help) download the updated version from the official developer site, reinstall it on your gadget, and then delete the entire package can be performed in normal mode.

However, if this does not help, you can use utilities such as CCleaner, however, sometimes on Android-devices you may need the presence of root-rights. In addition, if you remember to make a backup, in the same way as in the case of Windows, you can perform data recovery.

The result

As you can see, there will be a lot less trouble with mobile gadgets, although if you look at it, in Windows, in general, there is nothing particularly complicated in uninstalling such an antivirus. By the way, similar things concern also such known packages, as Eset Smart Security (NOD32) or standard "Kaspersky".
