Engine ovens: repair, replacement

The purpose of the stove engine is to increase the efficiency of heating and air circulation in the cabin. The quality of heating significantly decreases when it breaks down. Also, there is a possibility of outside noise, which irritates the driver and distracts attention. The way out of the situation is the replacement or repair, and since removing the motor of the stove is not difficult, you can not contact the service center and do all the work yourself.

What to look for

The search for a cause is the first stage of the work. It is necessary to start the car and listen to the sounds that appear when switching the device to different speed modes. If the heater does not work, it is easy to determine by the absence of sounds and any actions after switching on. The resistor present in the switch can also cause the fan to start at a third speed only.

Possible problems

There are several other faults that cause the failure of the heating device:

  • Poor connection in the mounting block. This problem occurs in many cars, regardless of the country of production, but it has an easy solution in the form of contact pulling or stripping of a contact group.
  • Fuse failure. The integrity of the power supply can be impaired, and a short circuit causes a fault in the entire structure. In this case, it is worth remembering that the heated mirrors and backlight glove compartment can be powered by the same fuse-link as the fan. Accordingly, verification of other elements is required.
  • Blow-in only in the third operating mode. Having understood the design, it is easy to understand the cause of failure. At the first two speeds, additional resistance is connected. Direct switching is carried out in the third position. That is, if you replace the resistor, the problem will be solved.
  • The ignition relay can stick in some cases. The engine of the stove starts to work only after the engine is warmed up completely. If this property is noted, it is worthwhile to check the monitoring device for a malfunction and replace it with a new one if necessary.
  • Malfunction of the fan. If it does not respond to the inclusion, and the voltage from the switch continues to flow, you can talk about a poor connection on the minus.

Breakage of the switch

The switch itself often leads to problems. Using a standard bulb with soldered wiring, you can check this device. In order to provide free access to it, the main part of the console is disconnected. When the engine is on, one wire is placed on "minus", the other touches all speeds separately. When the lamp is triggered on each element, there is no doubt about the operability of the switch. In the absence of reaction, the wire is put on a "plus". The lamp should light up, and if this did not happen, the fuse may break, or the heater of the stove is broken in the chains.

How the system works

It is worthwhile to first understand the principle of the system. The temperature is set to the desired level when the heating element is closed and opened. In this case, a heat source enters the radiator - a heated cooling liquid, the temperature of which reaches 95 degrees with the engine warmed up.

The operating speed is set by switching the speed mode. This has a direct effect on the volume of cold or heated air entering the car's interior. After the air supply varies with the panel flaps, they also regulate the direction, for example, in the salon or on the windshield.

Replacement of a heater of an oven

If the fan does not work or noise and squeaking occur, you need to change it. To begin with, a tool is prepared: a ratchet handle, a cross-head screwdriver and a head.

The screws used to secure the plastic cover next to the windshield, which is subsequently removed, are loosened. It will interfere with the work, as well as the bonnet seal.

A protective cover that hides the motor of the stove is pulled out, and bolts fastening it to the body of the machine are unscrewed.

From the driver's side in the cabin you need to find a fan wire with a plus value and push it away. Next to it is a negative wire, the fastening of which is removed by means of a head of a suitable size or a handle with a ratchet. There are no other options for removing the voltage, since the device is characterized by a direct method of soldering the wiring. Before changing the motor of the stove, it should be turned to simplify the process. If you have the knowledge and time it can be repaired. In another case, a new device is mounted, and all elements are returned in the reverse order.

Motor stove: repair

First, it is worth checking whether there are any foreign objects in the duct, since they can contribute to the occurrence of noise when in contact with the impeller. If they are absent, it is necessary to disassemble the electric motor. The disassembly process has a similar principle for different types of devices.

It is necessary to pull out the anchor, for this purpose access to the brush unit is provided by removing the fan cover. Clean and lubricate the bushings located on the lid and body.

Bearings are thoroughly washed in kerosene, they are first removed from them by anthers made of rubber and lubricated with lithol. Such an algorithm often allows the bearings to return to serviceability.

If necessary, they can be replaced with new ones. In this case, before landing, the seats are marked on the shaft. For removal, you can use a screwdriver or a core, but the best option is a specialized puller.

Pressing a new element is carried out with a hammer or wood bar, while it is desirable to apply machine oil to the rod.

It is desirable to clean the collector from possible oxidation phenomena before collecting the motor of the stove. Thanks to this, the electrical conductivity with the brushes will improve. Lubricating the fan with lithol will provide easier installation in a plastic beaker.
