Duroc - a breed of pigs, one of the best in the world

Among the various breeds of pigs, an important place is occupied by the Duroc breed, which was bred in the United States as a result of crossing several species of red suits. Preceding this breed of pig for the purpose of obtaining a hybrid were brought from Africa, Portugal and Spain. To date, Duroc is a breed of pigs, which is reddish, with a large physique, and its body is covered with a delicate seta of short length. Their ancestors are Berkshters, differing in red color suits. In ancient times, when they were only brought to America, their shade was considered sand, so the suit was called "sand." The crossing of animals gave definite results and produced characteristic species with which scientists continued to work. The pigs bred in New Jersey were called the jersey breed, while in New York a breed called the Duroc was bred.
Duroc - a breed of pigs, which only appeared, had such characteristic features as a large stout body, stiff bristles, large hanging ears, small head. Jersey had a larger body, but at the same time later ripened. Durok individuals met all the needs of the breeders, because they gave a big profit, which allowed not only to return all the funds spent for the purchase of feed, but also to get a good additional income. At first, each of these breeds was bred separately, but soon the breeders began to carry out intensive work related to crossing, to bring out the most successful and quality individuals. In the nineteenth century, in the midst of animal husbandry, in the eighty-third year, the breed was officially registered and was called durok jersey. Then gradually the second word in the name of the breed ceased, and as a result, people began to call the breed just "duroc".

Among the positive signs that Duroc (a pig breed) possesses, it will be unfair not to note their colossal endurance. The back has an arcuate shape, the ends of the ears are somewhat lowered, the profile is slightly curved. Such pigs grow very fast, on average, during feeding, the individual is able to add more than one kilogram in weight. The color of the trunk is solid red, but occasionally you can find some other colors: yellow, brown, cherry.
In the seventy-fifth year of the last century, duroc (a breed of pigs) was imported from America for the first time. After that, from Czechoslovakia and Romania, other varieties of durocs were brought out in the middle of the last century. Today, these domesticated meat breeds are distinguished by excellent first-class fertility (up to nine toddlers from each sow). As for milk, we can not say here about high results, they do not reach 42 kilograms, and the nest weight does not exceed 141 kilograms. For this reason, not every breeder considers it necessary to increase the population of this species. To a greater extent, they are used to excrete other hybrid individuals.

In any case, Duroc is a breed of pigs that belongs to the most authoritative and appreciated breeders and consumers of domestic animals. Today it is considered one of the four best breeds in the world. During the breeding of such pigs, it is important to remember that they sometimes suffer from rhinitis, which is almost impossible to cure. The decision to breed such a breed should be made only if there are favorable conditions, where the risk of infection with the infection is minimal or practically excluded.
