Drug 'Dermoveit': the instruction, analogues

One of the effective drugs for the treatment of certain types of psoriasis, discoid lupus erythematosus, red flat lichen is the drug "Dermovate". The instruction for this medication indicates that it can be produced as an ointment or cream. In 100 g of cream contains 0.05 g of active ingredient called clobetasol propionate. As much it is contained in the ointment. Means differ from each other only fillers and auxiliary components.

The ointment consists of sorbitan sesquioleate, propylene glycol and soft paraffin. The composition of the cream includes cetostearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, arlacel, purified water, glycerol monostearate, citric acid monohydrate, chlorocresol, white wax.

In addition to these diseases, the drug "Dermovate" (instruction indicates this) is recommended to use for the treatment of skin diseases, which could not be cured with less strong drugs. The responses received as a result of the survey of specialists testify to the high coefficient of action of this tool.

Globocorticosteroid clobetasol propionate, which enters the Dermoveit Cream and Dermovate Ointment, eliminates swelling, stops itching, has a good anti-inflammatory effect, and also an anti-allergic effect.

This high-quality drug, like all medicines, has some contraindications. Dermoveit (instruction cautions) is not indicated for pink or vulgar youthful acne, viral skin lesions, itching of the genitals, or perianal itching. Do not use the drug "Dermovate" pregnant and lactating.

In addition, with prolonged and especially uncontrolled use of the drug, adverse side effects may occur. Dermovayt-ointment (the instruction clearly indicates this) can cause oppression of the adrenal gland or pituitary gland. Especially often this happens if the ointment or cream is used to treat large areas of the skin. The likelihood of this kind of side effects increases the treatment with a sealed bandage. In children, diapers can cause complications, the effect of which can be compared with the effect of an occlusive dressing.

In adults, the drug "Dermoveit" (the instruction says about it) can cause skin discoloration, thinning or stopping hair growth, the appearance of pigment spots. Sometimes in the first days of using a cream or ointment, the symptoms of the underlying disease can become worse. Among local reactions during the use of the drug, the appearance of itching, burning. Usually, if side effects occur, the dose of the drug is reduced or canceled at all.

Is an overdose of Dermoveit possible? Given the relatively small concentration of therapeutic substance in 100 g of cream or ointment, an overdose is unlikely. However, prolonged use of the drug to treat very large areas of the body can exacerbate the symptoms of the disease or cause the occurrence of side effects.

Is it possible to replace the drug "Dermovate" with other compounds? You can, but only after consulting with a dermatologist.

The Polish "Cloveit", Indian "Powercort" (cream) and "Clobetasol", which are produced in the UK, are considered analogues of the Polish "Dermoveit".

All these medicines are applied very thinly to the affected areas of the skin. To enhance the effect, the doctor may recommend occlusive (sealed) bandages. The duration of the treatment course is determined only by a specialist. Usually the course lasts until the complete disappearance of the affected areas.

For the treatment of hyperkeratosis (lesions of the scalp), Dermoveit-Lotion is recommended. It is usually rubbed into the scalp. In the afternoon the head is left open, and at night the action of the lotion is strengthened by the application of bandages.

To achieve a lasting effect, experts recommend some time after complete recovery continue to use the medication once a day.
