Why does not the IPTV Player show: antivirus and firewall

Problems with DirectX

It also happens that the IPTV Player does not show well (the picture is displayed with interference or there is no image at all) due to the fault of the DirectX platform that is incorrectly installed or in need of updating. It is better to reinstall it completely by downloading the latest version from the official Microsoft resource or using the web installer for this.

However, if the user is absolutely sure that the latest version of DirectX is installed, in the additional parameters of the player when setting up the video, go to the "Advanced" tab, check the box for displaying all settings and select the option to use OpenGL instead of Direct3D.

Network settings in the player and on the computer

In some cases, there may be one more reason why IPTV Player does not show. Rostelecom is a striking example of this. Apparently, the problem is that for one of the available network interfaces, the player settings do not have priority.

Installation and configuration of IP-TV Player in this situation are reduced to entering the main parameters menu and selecting the network interface section (the IP address of the network card will be shown). If the system has several adapters (Wi-Fi, Ethernet), you need to choose the one that is currently used by the system, rather than using automatic detection.

If the IPTV Player does not appear after that, you should check the network adapter settings in the Network and Sharing section. In particular, this applies to the IPv4 protocol. Here you need to click the "Advanced" button on the General Settings tab, and in the next window to deactivate the automatic metric assignment line, then in the box below enter the unit as the current value (this will mean the highest priority for the protocol). You should also pay attention to the use of the parameters of the default gateway in the remote network. If this setting is active, the checkbox should be removed from it.

Custom settings in the system registry

Finally, if IPTV Player does not show up with such settings, the reason for its inoperability may be that the system does not support IGMP. First, find out the IP address of the VPN client.

Then, to correct the situation, you need to call the Registry Editor (regedit in the Run console), go to the HKLM branch and the SYSTEM and CurrentControlSet directories, and go to the Parameters directory, which has the Interfaces section. Next, you need to find the line with the IP address, the value of which corresponds to the one in the first stage, add the REG_DWORD parameter named TypeOfInterface to it and assign it a value of 2. Next, you just need to reboot the VPN router, and the problem should disappear.

For accuracy in the same section of Tcpip \ Parameters, create a new parameter of type DWORD, call it IGMPVersion, then set its current value in the edit window. Then simply press the "OK" button and restart the terminal.

Problems on the provider side

But everything that was described above, refers exclusively to problems from the user. But in fact sometimes the reason for this behavior of the player from the user's system may not depend.

In terms of situations related to the provider, the problem most often is limiting Internet traffic (especially often when using ADSL modems). But if anyone does not know, for normal operation of IPTV Player the minimum requirements are such that the speed of Internet connection should not be lower than 6 Mb / s (and this even without viewing channels in HD quality).

In addition, on standard hardware, the provider does not always prescribe the use of IGMP traffic, and with normal default settings this support is disabled. Therefore, the solution may be to contact the appropriate service with the request to include IGMP Multicast. If you use ADSL routers, you will additionally need to create a Bridge connection with customized PVC parameters.

A few words at a time

These were just the main and most common problems. Sometimes, according to user feedback, the program can be launched in compatibility mode with the XP-version of Windows (this applies to Windows 7, which for its own reasons does not always work with the application for some reason).
