Childhood and family

September 2, 1988 in Kiev in the family Ovcharovyh son Dmitry was born. Beginning of international career

In 2006, Dmitry received a call to the national team of Germany. His first games fell on the qualifying match of the European Championship against Romania. Dmitry confidently won in two matches of singles. Then came the European Championships, held in Serbia. The German national team at that tournament got "gold" in the team classification, and "bronze" in singles received Dmitry Ovcharov. Table tennis, worth mentioning, is in Germany almost as popular as football. Therefore, Dmitry immediately got an army of fans.

Olympiad-2008

Germany at the Olympics fell into one group with Canada, Croatia, Singapore. As a result of the group stage, the Germans with Dmitry Ovcharov made up the semi-finals. In the semi-finals of Germany defeated the team of Japan. The country of the rising sun was defeated, and the Germans reached the final.

The Chinese became rivals of the Germans in the finals, defended their title of the best team in the world and took away their "gold". Well-played for the team Ovcharov suffered a fiasco in singles. In 2013, the athlete submits to the European Championships in singles. In the finals, Ovcharov met with team-mate Samsonov. This tournament brought Dmitry the 6th championship in the national team.

At the European Championships in 2015, Ovcharov managed to defend his last year's title. In the final, Dmitry successfully fought against the Portuguese Marcus Freitas, and the team again won a silver medal. The next major tournament of that year was the European Games in Baku. At these competitions, Dmitry became the winner and, in addition to the gold medal, was eligible to participate in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Club career

Table tennis is primarily an individual sport, in which personal achievements in international tournaments are valued. However, in this sport there is also a club career. Dmitry Ovcharov started his club career in 2005 at the club "Tündern", which was headed by his father Michael. In 2007 Dmitri's transfer to Borussia from Düsseldorf takes place. In 2009 Ovcharov left to play for the Belgian Royal Villette Charleroi. In 2011, the Orenburg Fakel-Gazprom signs a contract with Dmitry Ovcharov.

After 3 years, Dmitry and Jenny met again at the competitions in Prague and since then began to meet. And on July 5, 2014, the couple played a wedding in the town of Bergisch Gladbach.
