Dmitry Borodin: Biography

Dmitry Borodin - Russian goalkeeper, a pupil of the St. Petersburg football school. During his career he performed in many domestic clubs in the Premier League and First Division. Now he began to practice coaching.

At the beginning of a career

Dmitry Borodin was born in 1977 in Leningrad. In football school he settled on the position of the goalkeeper, in the same role he spent his whole career.

The first club for which Borodin began to perform, was the St. Petersburg "Locomotive". In it, he started playing at age 19. The team at that time played in the First Division. The goalkeeper spent both seasons, in each of which the club took 16th place.

By 1999, Borodin entrenched in the first team, a total of 28 matches, in which he missed 28 goals.

The main team of the city on the Neva

In 2000 Dmitry Borodin moved to the main St. Petersburg team - Zenit. It was in this club that he achieved the greatest success, having won all the trophies in his career. Being the goalkeeper of "Zenith" was repeatedly called into the national team of Russia, however, not a single match was held.

In 2000, Zenit suffered a change in the head coach. In place of Anatoly Davydov came Yuri Morozov, with whom Petrograders already won medals of the USSR championship on football 20 years ago. When Morozov Borodin got a chance to gain a foothold in the first team. However, most matches were held in the country's cup and the Intertoto Cup.

In European competition, Dmitry Borodin made his debut in the second round of the Intertoto Cup in the games against the Slovenian Primorye team. The Piters won home 3: 0 and secured a 3-1 success on the road.

In the third round of the competition, "Zenith" went to the Hungarian "Tatabanya". Both matches, "Zenith" won with the same score 2: 1. In the semifinals, the English "Bradford" was defeated in the home match 1: 0, however, in the return meeting of the persistent struggle did not happen. The Russian team confidently won 3: 0.

In the final, the St. Petersburg club met with the Spanish "Celta". But the victory in the Intertoto Cup could not be won. In the first match, "Zenith" for the first time in the tournament lost at a party 1: 2, the return home match ended in a productive draw 2: 2.

In the "black and white"

In 2002 Dmitry Borodin moved to the Moscow "Torpedo", becoming for many years the main goalkeeper of the team. The most successful for Borodin was the first season in the "black and white".

The team from the first rounds settled in the leaders of the Russian championship, as a result of finishing in 4th place. The team won 14 games out of 30, winning a ticket to the UEFA Cup. Borodin missed 32 goals in the season, having demonstrated the third result in the Premier League.

But 2006 was a failure for the "torpedovtsy." The team won only 3 matches out of 30, took the penultimate place and dropped out of the Premier League. And there were no special chances for salvation in "black and white". From the Moscow "Dynamo", who finished 14th place, they fell behind by 12 points.

In the "Torpedo" goalkeeper played 134 games, conceding 167 goals.

At the end of a football career

In 2008, he moved to the team "Siberia" Dmitry Borodin. Footballer began to perform in the First Division. Despite the fact that the contract was concluded on the 1 + 1 system, less than six months later he left the club by mutual agreement of the parties. For "Siberia" Borodin played 17 games, conceding 15 goals.

The new team was the Makhachkala "Anji". In the team, he finished the season with 16 matches in the goal line, in which he missed 11 goals. "Anji" at the end of the season was the 6th.

In 2009, Borodin returned to St. Petersburg "Zenith". Here he spent three seasons, however, on the field almost did not appear. I played only 2 games, conceding 2 goals. Initially, for a short time, he was on loan at Khimki. In 2012, he announced his retirement.

Turning to coaching, Davydov spent two seasons with the youth team of St. Petersburg's Zenit. CM 2015 works for the position of the goalkeeper coach of FC Dynamo St. Petersburg.
