Diseases of the pear: the specificity of the occurrence and the ways of treatment

There are many diseases that are affected by fruit trees. They need to be cured in time, otherwise the tree will cease to bear fruit, or even completely die.

So, the topic of today's article is pear disease. There are several types. Our task is to describe the features and methods of fighting such infections:

  1. Black cancer is a disease that is more dangerous for an apple tree. For a pear, the harm is not so significant, but it is also significant. So, pear diseases, the basis of which is black cancer, can be expressed in several forms. One of the most dangerous is the damage to the bark on the trunks and branches. First, small wounds appear, which are then surrounded by a dark purple spot that has a depressed appearance. Later it begins to expand. Damaged areas are covered with bumps and cracks, the leaves are covered with spots that have a brownish tinge. The severity of this pear disease is that the fungus overwinter in the bark, as well as on the leaves that have fallen. As an active struggle begins to burn the fallen leaves, as well as removing the dried fruits from the tree. The wounds on the tree should be cleaned with a knife, then disinfected with copper sulfate (1% solution), and then cover (or garden wax, or clay, previously soaked in water). But in the case of clay, you need to add the mullein in equal proportions.
  2. Pear, whose diseases are very hard to cure, can be infected with scab. This disease occurs due to the defeat of the fungus, which affects the tissues of shoots, fruits and foliage. Fruits are covered with dark (later black) spots and deformed, and the leaves begin to fall off (with a high degree of damage). On leaves, the manifestation of this pear disease begins with the formation of dark velvety spots, which later grow and lead to their falling off. Spores of this fungus after the rain carries the wind. As a rule, wet weather promotes the spread of the disease. One of the ways of fighting, which will help cure this kind of pear disease, is spraying trees and fallen leaves with 3% nitrafen specifically against fungi. As a rule, the procedure is best done in early spring.
  3. Cytosporosis is a disease that leads to the drying of some parts of the cortex. It acquires a brownish-red hue. As soon as an attempt is made to rip it off, she begins to urinate. There are diseases of pears that are treated equally. This is black cancer and cytoplasm. Because of the detailed treatment of the latter does not make sense. Exactly the same situation concerns scab and phyllosis.
  4. Fillostikoz, mainly affects the apple foliage, but sometimes it is found on pear trees. A sign of this is the appearance of brown spots on the leaves. Most often, infection and the appearance of the first signs occur in mid-June.
  5. Powdery mildew is a disease that also most often affects the apple tree. It is characterized by the appearance of white plaque, both on shoots, and on foliage, fruits and bark. This leads to the death of shoots, ovaries and deformation of flowers. In order to overcome this type of pear disease, it is necessary to burn fallen leaves and diseased shoots. When the phase of detaching the buds comes, it is necessary to spray with foundation or sulfur preparations.
  6. Absolutely all the stone fruit trees suffer from fruit rot. Brown spots appear on the fruits. The flesh becomes soft, tasteless and brownish. If the fruit enters the vault, it becomes black outside on the outside, and black-brown inside.

In order to overcome the ailment, it is necessary to collect the fruits affected by the fungus in the summer and dig into the ground.
