Create a global Windows XP connection

Now we will look at how to install the Internet for this system. The procedure for creating a connection consists of the following steps:

  1. Go to the control panel.
  2. Find there the "Network Neighborhood" component, and it can also be present on the Windows desktop.
  3. In the list of network tasks, select "Create a new connection".
  4. Follow the instructions of the wizard that will help you connect to the Internet.

So, you called the program to create a new network. Now, as written in the window of this application, click the "Next" button to continue.

From the options offered by the wizard, select the connection to the Internet (we need to go to this network).

Then you will be asked how to set up the Internet. In the preparatory list, boldly choose the item "create a connection manually". To do this, you need to enter the parameters that you previously discussed with your ISP. They can be login, password, dialer phone number to the provider. For the dedicated high-speed connection, the last parameter is not needed.

The next step is to select the hardware resources to connect: either a dedicated line, or a conventional or high-speed modem. These settings depend on the equipment that the network service provider provided to you.

Then, successively, as suggested by the wizard, you must enter the name, password, phone number specified in the contract with the provider.

The last point of connection is creating a shortcut to access the network on your desktop. Also wWindows XP offers to make the current connection individual or available to all users of the system. Choose your preferred option.

Creating the Internet for Windows 7

  1. Similar to Windows XP, go to Start -> Control Panel.
  2. Among the system settings, select "Central Network and Sharing Management".
  3. In the "Network Basics and Connection Settings" window, we look into the "Change network settings" area, there is the item "Setting up a new network connection". It should be chosen.
  4. Choose the way how to set up the Internet. In the list of proposed there is a wireless, high-speed connection, as well as a dial-up (telephone line).
  5. Further, as in Windows XP, we select the required method, enter the necessary data from the provider, put the checkbox "remember the password".
  6. It remains to click the "connect" button. Exit to the Internet is made! This is indicated by a symbolic icon in the tray, opposite the clock.

We did not address the issue of how to configure the wireless Internet, because The principle of building a connection to the global network is the same, it does not depend on the method of data transmission / reception.
