How to set up the Internet

On the pages of many sites and forums in the global network in detail described how to configure the Internet on the computer. The authors try to take into account all possible nuances, give recommendations, sometimes very useful. Only there is a small problem: only some of them really know what they are writing about. Such it is - the modern world wide web, where webmasters in every way try to attract visitors to their pages. Our article is different: in it, based on our own experience, we will tell in a simple and understandable language how to set up an Internet that does not work through a wire (in fact, there's nothing to adjust), but through radio waves. It's not about slow GPRS and EDGE, but about the real CDMA 3G. In how to set up an Internet connection, there is nothing complicated, since standard operating system tools are used for this. Perhaps, with this and begin.

Obviously, before you configure the Internet, you need to connect a CDMA modem to the USB port of your computer or laptop and install the appropriate driver model. After that, you need to "specify" the operating system in which mode the device will work - despite all the "intelligence" of modern software, it is not yet possible to predict the user's intentions. To configure the Internet, you should click the "Start" button, open "Control Panel" and start "Network Connections". On the left in the window there is a link to create a new connection - we need it. After the first click of the "Next" button, an informative wizard window opens, read and follow. There is a choice of 4 items. We need the first, which is called - "Connect to the Internet." In the next window, you must select the manual mode. Even if it is possible to use the list of providers, dialing into Microsoft for information will take much longer than the set of parameters manually.

For most wireless CDMA modems, including EDGE and GPRS modes for mobile operators, you need to select the first item - "Via a normal modem". The authors of some articles believe that such a connection is necessary only for old slow dial-up modems working through a wired telephone line. It's a delusion. Modern wireless operators also use dialing. For those who consider this type of access obsolete, you can specify the characteristics of CDMA Rev.B, according to which the speed reaches an impressive 14 Megabit, and without the need to "tie" the computer wire to the provider.

The name indicates any - on the performance it does not affect. But the phone number is the first key parameter. Without knowing it, you can not configure the Internet. It must be reported by the selected CDMA operator when concluding the contract (if it is required) to provide access to the global Network. On the next screen you need to enter a password and a name - they are reported together with the number. For convenience, you can take a shortcut to the main screen of the system. Double-click on it, then click on the "Call" button, and you can start working on the Internet.

As you can see, creating a connection for a CDMA modem in the Windows system is quite simple. The main thing is to install the driver, conclude a contract with the provider-operator and run the Network Setup Wizard.
