Decoupage of plates: we are engaged in creativity in house conditions

Decoupage is a modern technique for decorating various surfaces, including cymbals. A variety of materials can be used as an ornament, but necessarily those that are previously cut out. These can be napkins with a picture, leather, newspaper clippings, etc. Recently, decoupage of dishes has been very popular. This is a very entertaining process, developing personality and distracting from gray everyday life. The process itself consists of several stages, with which we now get acquainted.

How to make decoupage plates

First let's prepare all that is necessary. Choose the plate that you are going to decorate. It can be glass or porcelain, it is desirable that it does not have any drawings.

Also we need a napkin - one of the main components of our decoupage. Select the picture that you like best.

Proceed from the fact for what purposes you are going to use a plate. Perhaps later it will hang on the wall, so the picture should match the interior. Or, maybe you decided to give it to someone, then the picture can be made depending on the holiday (Birthday, New Year, etc.). By the way, if you take a multi-layer napkin, then for work we need one layer, the one with the picture. You can use not a napkin, but a beautiful clipping from a newspaper.

In order to conduct the decoupage of plates, you will also need PVA glue, white acrylic paint, acrylic lacquer, paintbrush. All this must be purchased in advance, and at the beginning of the process have at hand. Without one of the components, the work can not be completed, pay attention to it.

Decoupage of plates: step by step instruction

  1. Take the plate and carefully degrease it. You can do this with any liquid that contains alcohol.
  2. We apply an even layer on the back of the plate of PVA glue and apply our napkin, depending on what pattern you want to get. If only a part of the surface of the plate is to be pasted, we apply glue only on it.
  3. Now take the brush and carefully follow the napkin. We do it very carefully so that it does not tear. Make sure that the napkin is well impregnated with glue, has become "wet".
  4. We remove the remnants of a napkin, for example, with a knife. We are waiting for the glue to dry completely.
  5. Further, our working surface should be covered with white acrylic paint evenly so that the napkin does not appear.
  6. As soon as the layer dries, cover it with acrylic lacquer. Decoupage cymbals are over!

In this case, we worked with the reverse surface of the plate. And that the picture was viewed, its surface should be transparent. In the case of porcelain, this option "does not roll." Decoupage of plates from porcelain consists in a decor of their internal surface. But the process itself does not differ from that described above. Remember that the finished work can be used to decorate something, as a gift, but not for food.
