Dangerous objects (potential) can be near

Do you know that somewhere in the immediate vicinity of your home or work can be dangerous objects? Potential of them (in accordance with the law number 116 - FZ, adopted in 1997 on July 21) can store on their territory flammable, inflammable or oxidizing substances of a certain type. For example, mixtures that can ignite spontaneously or gases that ignite at normal pressure when in contact with air masses are considered dangerous.

What are the dangerous industrial facilities?

Also dangerous objects (potential) can be enterprises where explosive, toxic and highly toxic substances are processed, transported or destroyed, or melts of ferrous and / or non-ferrous metals are produced, mining works or equipment operating under pressure exceeding 0.07 megapascals .

In addition, dangerous objects (potential) are systems where mechanisms are used to move and lift cargo. Among them, in accordance with the law, you can find funiculars, ropeways or escalators. Exceptions are elevators and lifts for people with disabilities. Danger can come even from objects where raw materials of vegetable origin (grain, mixed fodder) are stored or processed. Such materials, in the presence of certain dust-air mixtures, may spontaneously or burn from the source of fire, including after its removal. Cases of explosion of grain heaps of a rather large force are known.

Definition of dangerous object class

Classes of potentially dangerous objects are established, based on how many harmful substances are stored in one place. For example, if there are 5000 tons or more of ammonia in the storage facility, then the enterprise will have the first hazard class, and if from 10 to 50 tons, then the fourth (minimum) level. For explosives , frames are installed: for the first class - 500 tons or more, for the second class - from 50 to 500 tons, for the third class - up to 50 tons. The fourth class for this group, as well as for warehouses and bases with flammable liquids, is not provided.

Dangerous objects (potential) among feed mills, cereals, flour mills and elevators have a third hazard class , regardless of the amount of stored products and raw materials. But most miners spend every working day at the first class facilities of danger, since gas or dust can explode there, a so-called rock strike or a breakthrough of water into underground mining may occur.

Documentation in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Emergency Situations

The passport of a potentially dangerous object must be developed on the basis of the requirements of the order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations No. 506 adopted on 04.11.2004. It indicates the name and location of the facility, its general characteristics, risk level indicators, as well as characteristics for injuries and accidents and measures to ensure safety. The passport is accompanied by a plan indicating the areas that can become a disaster zone in the event of an unfavorable development of events, as well as a computational and explanatory note with justifying calculations and indicators.
