Cthulhu. What is this: myth or reality?

Each historical epoch corresponds to some literary genre, when mention of which immediately became clear the time of the events described. For example, the phrase "Silver Age" speaks of the beginning of the 20th century, and "Romanticism" - about the end of the 18th and early 19th centuries.

Fantasy - a very popular in our time, a genre that emerged in the 30 years of the last century. One of his ancestors is the American writer Howard Lovecraft (1890-1937 gg.) - a personality, certainly uncommon, but with an obvious, and genetic, "crazy" (his father spent many years and died in the house of mourning). Authors and fans of this genre are working diligently to ensure that the line between reality and the fictional world becomes more invisible.

The brightest example of this whole direction is the Cthulhu phenomenon. What is it really: fiction or genuine traces of the former civilizations? Nobody ever mentioned this community of extraterrestrial beings.

However, the myths of Cthulhu are seriously discussed, as if they are myths of ancient Greece. This story, acquired flesh and blood in the minds of admirers, is considered the pinnacle of the author's creativity and the beginning of the fantasy genre.

Cthulhu, a book about which was published in 1928, according to the plot - an inhabitant of the depths of the Pacific Ocean. The story is an integral part of the cycle and is a series of stories that penetrate each other, that is, has a cross-cutting storyline. Stories of heroes - it's whether painful dreams, or delirious memories, hinting at the existence of something otherworldly. The book became a cult, gained crowds of worshipers, sects were formed, the cult of Cthulhu arose, as in the book. Cases of human sacrifice are known. At its core, this idolatry is absolutely satanic in nature.

Cthulhu - what is it, where did it come from, what does it look like? He is triune in his appearance. This is something between the squid, the man and the dragon with the undeveloped wings, according to some evidence, his drool is constantly flowing.

The plot line is an alien invasion. It is necessary to understand, speaking of Cthulhu, that this is a monster, personifying a universal evil. He wandered the universe for a long time, visited planets and satellites, one of which got a family. And all together they came to Earth, where they fought for a long time with local Elders. The fight then flared up, then a truce was coming. But as a result of the last battle, the aborigines were destroyed, but the conquerors were punished by the universal gods. They, in any case, Cthulhu, were imprisoned at the bottom of the ocean and became immovable. But even in this state, this villain controlled the thoughts of people in a certain warehouse, imposing nightmares on them, driving them insane. The meaning of the story is that Cthulhu is waiting for his time, that this return will necessarily take place for the joy of his admirers.

The story is full of horror and mysticism. No wonder "original" creativity of its author occupied a special niche even in the genre of fantasy and was called "Lovecraft's horrors".

Over the "light" image Cthulhu worked not only Lovecraft. Shocked by his work, American writer Brian Lumley also contributed to the creation of this image. To the myths of Ktuhlu, Ramsey Campbell and Lin Carter put their hand.
