Climb Everest - a dream of travelers

Everest is the most famous peak in the world, its height is 8848 m. There is some mystery in it. The inhabitants of Nepal call the mountain Sagarmatha, in translation - "Mother of the Gods", and the inhabitants of Tibet - Jomolungma, this means "Mother of the World".

The first expeditions to the Himalayas, held in the early nineteenth century, opened up a huge potential for this mountain system to researchers. Soon it became clear that here is the highest peak in the world.

In the early nineteenth century, the initiators of the detailed map of the Himalayas - the British, who at that time owned part of Hindustan - began to implement a program to map the Himalayas. About 700 people worked under the project under the leadership of George Everest, who became one of the legendary researchers of this mountain chain.

In 1852, two surveyors - Michael Hennessey and Radhanath Shikdar - measured the highest peak in the world. After the final refinement of the height of the mountain in 1865, it received the official name - Everest.

It is known that the first successful ascent to Everest was performed by the New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Nepalese Sherp Tenzing Norgay May 29, 1953. During the ascent, climbers used oxygen, more than 30 Sherpas participated in the expedition. The climbers decided to officially announce that they climbed to the top at the same time. However, according to some sources, New Zealander Edmund Hillary made the ascent to Everest first, and then helped to rise Tenzing Norgay. Although this is not so important.

In our time, climbing Mount Everest becomes an exciting adventure, which you can experience by buying an excursion. As a rule, a group of 10-15 people with sufficient physical training and good health is created.

The plan of the expedition is developed based on 60 days of trekking. Participating in the ascent people live in double tents in harsh conditions. On the 11th day, the members of the group get to the base camp on the slope. And then the climbers make an ascent to Mount Everest, which can be dangerous for their life. No one guarantees the safety of a tourist above a specially equipped camp, and especially at an altitude of 7,000-8,000 meters.

Such an enterprise is organized for professional mountaineers, and not for curious travelers. Every year, the ascent to Everest is carried out by Himalaya Expeditions Nepal. The group departs from Nepal to the base camp, and everything necessary for further ascent is transported there by helicopters and yaks. Usually the expedition starts in September and ends in November.

If a person does not professionally mountaineering and has no experience of climbing to other peaks, he can buy a tour that allows you to make a hike along the Everest trails at a leisurely pace and with all the amenities. During such an excursion, any person in normal physical condition can feel like a hero conquering the highest peak of the world.

In addition, in the area of the summit of Mount Everest there is the Sagarmatha National Park, which has a stunning natural landscape. Here, travelers can see the deep gorges, glaciers and mountain peaks above which the summit of the world - Mount Everest rises. Climbing this peak has become a dream for many.
